Okay so after all ordered this Lenovo for 29 090 THB

Got some online discount, good price vs Banana IT and others.

Was going to get above lower spec Ryzen 7 for 19.99k

But this one is faster better specs CPU GPU SSD

More future proof. And nice alloy case.

Recommend it

Looks like it was last one there too. 😁

Agree, what is 10,000 baht when purchasing something that you'll probably use most days and want it to work and last well?

Or 10,000 less, if you don't need more and couldn't really tell the difference anyway? Or 55,000 baht more to get an I9, 48 Gb RAM, Nvidia 3070 graphics, and backlit keyboard?

Really depends on how it's used.

For surfing porn, watching youtube & Netflix, checking email, checking the BBC, posting on the forum, like most posters--it's overkill. Even for playing script kiddie with your VPN. Ross Ulbricht, aka “Dread Pirate Roberts,” ran Silk Road from his Samsung 700z laptop, 4 Gb RAM, HDD, and a server in Iceland, and amassed 50,676 Bitcoin (worth nearly $3.4 billion in 2021) for himself.

Hardware intensive applications--editing videos w/ Premier Pro, playing some recent games with high fps, rendering animations, compiling large programs, etc--will require more.

I, like a few others here, find it satisfying to keep an old box running that meets all my needs. 🙂

The OP is pleased with his purchase. I just happen to agree entirely with his reasoning as I'm in the market for a newer laptop myself. Tired of watching things spinning away on my 2009 'middle of the road' machine. Certain keys fly off if I hit them upon an angle! I enjoy playing around with different operating systems using Virtual Box. Apart from that, the odd video and audio file conversion is about as demanding as I get. I have another laptop, slightly newer (from 2012) but I made a mistake when buying it. It isn't capable of virtualisation. It has a permanent UEFI firmware fault and is presently semi-bricked. Plus it needs a new screen. My Mrs won't permit any spending upon old and faulty junk!

When it's time, it's time. Now you might go to Jib, Advice, PowerBuy, or wherever and get a demo before you buy. Middle of the road has changed a lot in the last 15 years, to say the least.

Not really, Chrome and many tabs runs many processes and use sources a lot especially if u low on them and browser sync in background plus other stuff.

But I was joking. I do web development and other stuff but mostly on remote server anyway so locally don't run much, guess will have to utilize new CPU and GPU try torrent games or something, tho got PS5 for that.

I see your new laptop says office 2021 - are these 1 year trial versions? That used to be the hook to get you to cough up.

The latest office is 365, right? Which is subscription only?
