Is Thailand Value for money
As a non-US citizen, many questions popped up in my mind, after reading your post. You mention... aaa) The number of millionaires. One site said 24.5 million, another 23.7 million. bbb) 36.8 million Americans living in poverty in 2023. ccc) These days, it doesn't take much to hit a million dollars in assets in the US ddd) And, the number of millionaires in the US is bound to grow To me, it seems the numbers are not right. Why? aaa) If the number of millionaires are bound to rise, what would happen to the number of people living in poverty? bbb) If it doesn't take much to hit a million dollars in assets in the US, why don't the number of people living in poverty reduce? (of course, exceptionally, there might be a few who choose to be that). Other than the above, there are many who complain about the extreme cost of health care etc. For example, right here at AN, I've read many posts from US citizens who have settle in Thailand just for that reason. Looking at it from outside, for a non US citizen it is quite difficult to understand what really is the issue. US is looked upon as the most powerful, developed country on the planet. It spends Trillions of $$$$$$$$ on war, space programs and the likes. So why cannot it be made a paradise for its citizens to lead a peaceful, comfortable life in their home country, at a reasonable cost? Why not the people living in poverty be given an opportunity to raise their living standard? Why doesn't the Government prioritize this and why don't the US citizens demand this from their Government? I am sure, the US has the capacity to do that - Financially, Intellectually, Technology and what not... -

Foreign Rider Killed in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash in Jomtien
Well in my opinion, just look at the statistics - every year, Thailand ranks among the highest with highway/road kills around 24K or so - about 80% of those dying on the roads are motorcyclists. I realize most at probably Thai drivers but the cars are Thai drivers too and they crash with motorcycles daily and which is safer that car or the motorcycle. -

Where to buy USD
TBH, my biggest concern is the shortest queue. I'm amazed at the long queues at the local Super Rich, when I can walk into a nearby no-name exchange with no queue and the same (or better) rate. Being in the Samui section, I can't help with local knowledge. Good topic, though. -

Electric Vehicles in Thailand
who says that? mr. safety first, someone who doesn’t own an ev and has only limited knowledge about them? shame on you! i would say the exact opposite. all ev owners on this forum provide excellent, first-hand experience, advice, and answers. just because you don’t like the answers doesn’t mean they’re not accurate. agian, shame on you! every ev owner on this forum will tell you: ev's aren’t for everyone, ev's won’t save the climate, ev's have a lot of potential to improve along with even better infrastructure, and yes, ev's have also some disadvantages too ... it’s only the ev haters who pretend to know everything about ev's, even though most have never driven or owned one. think about that! -
