What about the many crooks in real estate who sell houses to foreigners on leasehold and do not deliver the property with the proper quality or safety standards ?

No serious legal protection for the foreigner who has put in money.

Better thus never to buy in Thailand unless you put in what you do not mind to loose.

Do they sell exclusive to foreigners?

Or do Thais who buy also have the same problems?

Lots of foreigners somehow think that if they invest in Thailand all is regulated and enforced just like home. It isn't!

It's stupid and naive to spend many millions without knowing what could go wrong.

The meeting reported various tourism-related issues, including problems with taxi drivers harassing and soliciting tourists to purchase goods and services from associated shops. Other topics discussed were the fair collection of fares for both parties, pedestrian and road traffic, and various dimensions of tourist safety.

Meetings upon meetings with no real change.

Its up to you to inspect the property and determine its appropriate or not. If you don't and proceed with the purchase or lease that's on you

What does this have to do with tourist's safety?

Silly comment anyway.

I bought, built and sold for a profit. Lived here 23 years so far rent free.

All of my customers, friends and neighbours have also found the same.

How about 'Better thus never to buy anything anywhere unless you put in what you do not mind to loose'.

Exactly! It amazes me, the number of apparently well educated, intelligent people who simply don't do their due diligence when buying in Thailand.

I wonder if they are that careless in their home countries.

Where big money is involved, trust noone!
