Manchester United thread (2024)

Hi guys....

Any thoughts on the derby?

With the whole world writing us off, is that an advantage?

Personally, unless Hojlund is back I don't see how we can do much. I would even advocate sticking McTominay up front (since that's why he plays anyway) instead of Rashford and playing an extra midfielder.

Manchester United: Marcus Rashford says commitment to club cannot be questioned

Marcus Rashford says people questioning his commitment to Manchester United need to show "more humanity".

Rashford, 26, has scored five goals for United this season and faced criticism about perceived attitude issues.

He missed United's FA Cup win over Newport, days after he was reportedly seen in nightspots in Northern Ireland.

"If you ever question my commitment to United, that's when I have to speak up," the England forward said in a piece for The Players' Tribune.

"It's like somebody questioning my entire identity, and everything I stand for as a man.

"I grew up here. I have played for this club since I was a boy. My family turned down life-changing money when I was a kid so I could wear this badge."

Manchester-born Rashford came through the United youth ranks before making his first-team debut as an 18-year-old in 2016.

He has gone on to make 391 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 128 goals.

Rashford finished last season with a career-best tally of 30 goals, but he has been unable to make the same impact this time around as United have struggled to build on their first campaign under manager Erik ten Hag.

They sit sixth in the Premier League after 26 games.

"I can take any criticism. I can take any headline. From podcasts, social media and the papers. I can take it," Rashford added.

"But if you start questioning my commitment to this club and my love for football and bringing my family into it, then I'd simply ask you to have a bit more humanity."

Course they can cos they put all their debt against the Stadium (yeah, the one that's falling down) so they can comply with FFP

Come back when you at least grow the balls to start up your own thread again, instead of being bullied by 'the powers that be'.

Been Manchester United fan since I was 8 years okd, but when Solskjær got "fired", I stopped following them. Im sure if Solskjær got rid of Ronaldo, he would had succeeded.

I cant answer if Haaland would had fit as good as he did at City with united, but I think everyone could see he was on to something before Ronaldo came back.

Ole tried twice to sign him, I know once he flew to Germany to meet him, 20 million

Ole had a good relationship with Haaland before he went abroad, guided, trained, and mentored him. Unfortunate Haaland had grown to big for United at the time.

Solskjær did call United the year before and told them to buy Haaland, but at that time they said they had enough talents. So The owners can just blaim themselves and not Solskjær.

I dont think Haaland would play next to Ronaldo when that opportunity came if I remember right, and Ronaldo already had made his comeback at the time.

Man Utd could cash in on Bruno Fernandes this summer transfer window according to reports and Pochettino could be of interest to INEOS as a Ten Hag replacement
