Alan Smith , we got him from Leeds then he went to Newcastle.

That's the fella. Horrible little bugger but got the job done. Unfortunately, he was a bit before the time when you could have a bet on players to get a card.

I make a few quid these days doing that along with shots on target for bet builders. If you do bet builders, use Paddy's if you can as they roll your bet on to the substitute who comes on for a player. Not aware of any other bookie doing this so your bet dies when they go off. Bet 365 are more generous though for the odds on player shots, shots on target and fouls committed.

Gives a bit of interest to a game and there is a bit of success to be had.

Plenty of websites to give you the stats on yellow cards, shots etc. 👍

Good result last night.

I can see another Ole situation, where the players start trying again for the new manager for a few games especially if they like Ruud and want him to get the job.

Trouble is, if he's given the job full time on the back of a few results, they'll drop off again. Just like they did with Ole.

Amorim seems a bit of a leftfield choice but at least the players will try for a few months.

Ultimately, with the characters in that squad I don't think it will make a lot of difference who they get in. They are years behind City, Liverpool, Arsenal etc.  Players bought by about 6 different managers, no style of play, a few 'bad eggs' who happen to be senior Pros and are on massive wages. It's not looking good.

Appears from last night that Casemiro pulled out a performance for the 'new' manager.

If utd are going to tail off I hope it's just in time for the quarter final against Spurs in mid December. 😁

Amorim confirmed.

Expect 10 to 15 games of effort and good results. Then back to normal.

I predict an 8th place finish.

Time will tell. 8th sounds about right for this season.

Yeah with such a disjointed mishmash squad of Divas 8th wouldn't be too bad.

Be interesting to see Amorim at work, I don't think too many had really seen/heard much of him until 2 weeks ago. It's a big step up for him.

It was the same with Ten Hag.

The Manchester United u18s cannot stop cooking this season, this week they’ve thrashed Leeds 8-0, with both Amir Ibagimov and James Scanlon scoring hat-tricks.

The future is VERY bright

If they train on , one of the scorers was Musa , who a couple of seasons ago was a goal machine , now Wheatley and Biancheri have surpassed him , and to be honest Musa in his last 3 games has been poor.

Yeah, and look what happened.

The squad is the problem IMO. Not the manager. They've got players bought by about 5 different managers all of whom had a different style of play (or in the case of Ten Hag - no style of play). Bang average players with a suspect mentality on huge wages.

Even someone like Pep would need 5 years and half a billion to turn it around.

I guess you could get a crop of youngsters come through like the Neville, Beckham, Scholes, Giggs era but I think that is doubtful and the league is much more competitive now than it was then. Plus I don't think Ineos or the Glazers really know what they are doing.

I wish Amorim all the best, I think the Premier League is a better place with a decent United side in it.

So Ruud is surplus to requirements , I hope he got a good pay out and lands a decent job elsewhere.

I thought he would have been ideal to help young forwards at United.

Yeah, I agree. These days we have defence coaches, forward coaches, set-piece coaches. I would have thought that he could certainly help Utds forwards, especially the younger ones like Hojland, Garnacho & Zirkzee.

Pleased to see Wan Bissaka scoring and playing well for West Ham , big mistake keeping Dalot instead of him.

It wasn't a fling; they stayed together for decades.

That team with Hill and Coppell as flying wingers was very good and built on the cheap.

Actually Hill was not happy when United sold him, even though Derby were top of the league at the time,

Gabriele Biancheri on target again for the Youth team , a hat trick in their Youth cup game against Coventry.

Wheatley stepped up to the Under 21s , but is not finding the back of the net too often .
