Anyone ever got them done in Thailand for a US entity?

thanks

Sorry I don't recall the exact location, but I got my fingerprints taken at a big cop shop off of Sukhumvit in Bangkok.  Someone else may know the exact location as it was full of foreigners getting fingerprinted for formalities related to overseas employment, background checks, etc.

You may want to include your location within Thailand to get steered to a nearby facility.  I'd hate to go all the way to BKK only to find out I could have had it done 5 minutes from home.

As an alternate, you may want to call the US Embassy and ask them where to get it done.  I'm sure it's quite routine for many.

Check with the entity that is asking for them as they may only accept from specific sources e.g. a government institution.

The US Embassy will provide fingerprint cards for free, and recommends people get the inking done at

The Police Clearance Service Center
Royal Thai Police, Building 6
Rama I, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330
Phone: 02-205-1823

Using ink on fingerprint cards is still the norm?  I thought the technology had advanced to the point where it could be done with a computer scan of some sort.

In another life, years ago, I had a job supervising a bunch of people who processed paperwork for the Department of Justice and the State Department. Fingerprint cards that were not done carefully caused a lot of trouble.  Smudges, smears, etc.  I’m sure a lot of people were more than annoyed at the process when they had to have fingerprints taken for a second time.
