Jared will clandestinely come to the rescue.  He does it for the wife.

No real problem, though, DT is really rich, said so himself.  Why would he lie?

The 2 eldest sons are probably on suicide watch, depressed at watching dad p_ss away their inheritance on this dopey president stuff.  Mel probably sitting pretty with a carve-out settled years ago, she gets the boy.

He has a good point.

The IRS should stop collecting taxes because so many people cheat on them.

Thailand is way ahead of the curve on all this as they have many many laws on the books that they never attempt to enforce.

There may not be a carve out for Mercedes, Trump may scrounge everywhere to get his $455 million.

Nevertheless, seems his first wife Ivana may have had to play the 'rape' card before the proven sex offender gave her her due divorce settlement.

Possibly Melania has a lot more dirt on him.

^ Quickly.

She said maybe, within 30 days.

Mar-a-lago, which she suggested, has quite a few stipulations re: use. I don't think it could be razed and redeveloped.

Trump was rejected by about 30 companies that provide appeal bonds. None will go near him with a ten-foot pole. He has been summarily rejected and his facade as a wealthy successful businessman fully exposed. None of his wealthy billionaire buddy will step up. Stick a fork he is ruined.

Maybe even the maga morons will finally figure out that the conman is  conman.

I am somewhat surprised he has not sent out a massive email grift to try to get the maga morons to donate $$ for him to begin to pay a few of the judgements already levied with more to come....maybe he is afraid that the grift well is running dry or his cult has finally grown a brain.

thaibeachlover - I agree that the level of damages awarded in the US Courts is EXCESSIVE but that's the way it is - it's not just tailored for Trump and he is not being persecuted at all. It's simple - he has broken the Law, (countless times).

There's 6 months to go and it's my opinion Trump's descent into 'looneytunes' territory will lose him all but his most ardent supporters. Have a look at Trump's Dayton speech - he's really lost it!

Of course Joe Biden is too old to stand again but he is the much lesser of two evils.

I've been of the impression for many years ( decades) that there is something very wrong with the American justice system, and it's more about money than justice.

Nevertheless, IMO a senile Trump would be better than Harris, as IMO she is likely to be installed as POTUS within a year should Biden win. Biden and Harris, IMO, are at the very pinnacle of what is wrong with Washington, that causes so many millions of Americans to despise it so much that they'd rather have Trump than HRC, who was a Washingtonian to her very core.

But it is the choice of the US public who will become POTUS, with some help (or not) from the electoral college). I wonder who elects the members of the electoral college. They seem somewhat un-necessary nowadays.

I'm not sure if you are referencing the members of the electoral college, or those that elect them.

The electoral college is here to stay as it's enshrined inn the constitution and IMO not even one small state will ever vote to replace it with a majority vote.

It is great this clown has no vote in our election. Fox News is repeated by him continuously. His postings demonstrate he is well disliked for repeating the same crap as we all can visit ourselves. He needs to wake and see himself as we all do.

Was just reading on Slate about Repub plans to restrict birth control.

The dopiest piece of TrumpTrash here doesn't endorse that. What motivates them?

My last remaining theory is a kind of emotional coprophagia. How long before they inevitably transition to the physical kind?

On their behalf, I promise to eat more fiber.

Alina said -in court- that he was worth billions and she could prove it.

Perjury time?

Ms. Habba only made comments as to Trump's wealth in an opening statement in a non-jury trial. Not testimony sworn under oath.

But if this is perjury, Judge Engoron musta missed it. This page has his phone number and email. Maybe you should give him a call and let him know.

"As far as the Court can infer, sureties may have refused to accept defendants' specific holdings as collateral because using Mr. Trump's real estate will generally need 'a property appraisal' and his holdings are not nearly as valuable as defendants claim," (Dennis Fan, a senior assistant solicitor general for the state), wrote.

Christopher Kise, an attorney for Trump, criticized James and the filing in a statement to CBS News, claiming they "misrepresent the facts and misconstrue applicable law in her political crusade against President Trump."

"Today's missive does not even bother to cite New York case law.

Opinion  Fair’s fair: Trump should be able to appeal the judgment against him

By Ruth Marcus
Washington Post Associate editor

On the topic of Donald Trump’s asserted inability to scrounge the money to post bond and appeal the mega-judgment in his New York civil fraud case, by all means: Let’s enjoy a good chortle at seeing Trump hoisted on the petard of his own braggadocio about his supposedly vast wealth.

Then let’s pause and consider: Is it fair to require Trump to post a bond of this magnitude to be able to appeal the judgment against him — $464 million, including interest?

Look, no one more deserves to be mistreated, and no one more deserves a system rigged against him, than Trump.

As Trump’s lawyers argued to the state appeals court: “A bond requirement of this enormous magnitude, effectively requiring cash reserves approaching $1 billion, is unprecedented for a private company. Even when it comes to publicly traded companies, courts routinely waive or reduce the bond amount. Enforcing an impossible bond requirement as a condition of appeal would inflict manifest irreparable injury” on Trump.

Yes can appeal.

Once he’s posted bond.

Which is meets the penalty which in turn is commensurate with the fraud(s).

Panic mode sets in for Trump as he faces deadline for massive bond

Updated 7:16 AM EDT, Wed March 20, 2024

Former President Donald Trump is in panic mode as the deadline approaches to secure a half-billion-dollar bond to appeal his civil fraud case in New York, according to multiple sources familiar with his thinking.

As Trump and his legal team wait to see whether an appeals court will pause the judgment as he appeals it, or allow him to pay a smaller bond of $100 million, he has privately expressed opposition to any path concerning filing for bankruptcy, and it remains the least likely for now, one person familiar with the talks told CNN.

In order to stop the state from enforcing the judgment, Trump has to post a bond to be held in an account pending the appellate process, which could take years to litigate.
