Obama, Fearing Biden Loss to Trump, Is on the Phone to Strategize

The relationship between former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden has evolved over the years, from initial skepticism to mutual support and collaboration. As the 2024 election approaches, Obama's involvement in strategizing for Biden's campaign reflects his concern about the possibility of Biden losing to former President Donald Trump.

Despite some past tensions and disagreements, particularly surrounding Biden's decision not to run for president in 2016, the two leaders are now aligned in their efforts to ensure Biden's political future. Obama's engagement with Biden's campaign team and regular conversations with White House Chief of Staff Jeffrey D. Zients indicate his commitment to helping Biden navigate the challenges of the upcoming election.

The upcoming joint appearance of Obama, Biden, and former President Bill Clinton at a major fundraiser underscores their collective support for Biden's candidacy. This unity marks a significant shift from previous years when Obama advised Biden against running for president and opted to support Hillary Clinton instead.

Although their relationship has had its ups and downs, particularly regarding strategic decisions and policy disagreements, Obama's affectionate remarks during Beau Biden's eulogy in 2015 marked a turning point in their bond. Biden's personal tragedy brought them closer together, leading Obama to reassure him of their enduring friendship and support.

While there may have been lingering doubts about Biden's political prospects in the past, Democrats close to Obama now recognize the urgency of defeating Trump in the upcoming election. Biden's confrontational performance during his State of the Union address has further reassured Obama and his allies of Biden's readiness to lead and compete in the political arena.

Overall, Obama's active involvement in Biden's campaign reflects both his concern for Biden's electoral success and their strengthened partnership in pursuit of shared political goals.

A/ the Dems must be terrified that Trump has a real possibility of winning to be wheeling out Obama and Clinton ( I wonder if she will be there- I'd love to see that pants suit again ).   B/

  • Lets pray and hope it wouldn't be Trump next 4 years with Putin on his direct line.

B/ Biden's performance during his SOTU speech was, IMO, as "confrontational" as a very small damp poodle yapping at someone's heels. He looked like a man that had been coached to look like he was confrontational, IMO.

Hmmmmmm. Does that mean that Biden will be buying the next door coastline property in Hawaii to live in? To show his support for climate change theory?

The headline seems to be from a different article.

Obama can see Biden is in deep trouble. Hopefully he has the magic touch again. I'm still hugely grateful for him for his comments during Brexit which many believe got the Leave vote over the line. 😄

Thanks again Barack.

Side note ; I wonder if Joe calls him "Boy" like he does with other black males?

Obama's dream to run the country from the telephone. Of course he wants another 4 years to finish it off.

Clinton was a good president. I didn't mind Obama until he started poking his nose into the UK's business. Fortunately, he likely secured Brexit despite his efforts to influence UK voters to remain.

He learnt his lesson after that and kept his mouth shut on the UK's sovereign decisions.

Seems Trump didn't 'keep his mouth shut' on the UK so much.

I worked at the Music Hall as an usher when I was in high school.  At that time it was a first-run movie theatre, with the stage show, of course.

It was ok, but they kept bugging us to get haircuts (it was the late 1960s).  Saw "The Odd Couple" so many damned times I think the entire dialogue is stashed in my memory somewhere.

Some great quotes in there. Thanks.

I'm no Trump fan but he was spot on about Theresa May and her lame attempts to deliver BRINO.

Meanwhile Trump too is getting his band back together with Paul Manafort, Corey Lewandowoski and Roger Stone. Those unscrupulous individuals will help Trump raise money to line their pockets.

Sadly, the Dems will have to do 2024 without SBF.  But I'm sure they can find some equally scrupulous donors among the 5000.

Glass houses.  Stones.

As long as they are donating to the party election campaign and not for scamming to pay personal legal bills and certainly not for  buying bibles, shoes and NFTs.

Why not send him an email and ask him?

Welcome to the most unconventional White House tour you’ve ever seen!

First up, we have the ‘Dream Team,’ a unique ensemble cast featuring two individuals who’ve had the distinct ‘honor’ of being convicted felons, and two others who’ve made headlines as sex offenders. They’re here to provide a… let’s say ‘colorful’ backdrop to your visit.

Next, we’ve arranged for an exclusive performance by the J6 Choir, belting out a rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner that’s sure to be… memorable.

And don’t be surprised if you spot members of the Proud Boys serving as the Honor Guard. It’s all part of the experience!

For our esteemed guests from Russia and North Korea, this is a must-see attraction. But don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about our domestic visitors. There’s something for everyone!

And what’s a visit without a souvenir? Make sure to stop by the Trump Merch Shop on your way out for some exclusive memorabilia. And for a small fee, you can even get a photo with the ‘Dream Team.’ Just remember, all sales are final!

So come one, come all, to the most talked-about tour in town. It’s a spectacle you won’t want to miss!

SBF claimed he gave equally to both parties.

It may well be Republicans who can save us from Trump....

[One of the newest players on the 2024 scene are “Republican Voters Against Trump.” Who are just what they profess to be: Republicans. Who once voted for Trump. And whose mission now is to convince fellow former Trump voters never to vote for him again – and, hopefully, to vote for Joe Biden.]

[Significantly, their ranks include many former members of Trump’s White House, starting with Vice President Mike Pence. But also: Chiefs of Staff John Kelly and Mick Mulvaney; National Security Advisers HR McManus and John Bolton; Defense Secretaries James Mattis and Mike Esper; Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley; Deputy White House Press Secretary Sarah Matthews; and Executive Assistant Cassidy Hutchinson, among others. Their message is: We served close to Donald Trump. We know him well. And to know him is to loathe him.]

What 3 presidents? I see Biden and Obama, Hilary never was president, and I don't recognize the 4th person (last photo?).

He should have been on the phone 2 years ago trying to talk Biden out of not running again, trying to talk him into stepping aside so someone younger and more vital could run, and if not, at a very minimum trying to talk him into a legitimate vice presidential candidate, rather than Horrific Harris.

Hillary won in 2016. Russians rigged it.

And risk getting impeached?

She's the best insurance against impeachment he could ever hope for.

I wonder if the Hur report may have had a different recommendation if there was a viable VP in the wings?

If Kennedy draws 60% from the left Trump wins. The polls are now pretty even but normally biased by 5 points towards Blue. So Trump is on target for a win.
