BANGKOK, April 3 (TNA) – The Constitutional Court has accepted a petition by the Election Commission (EC) asking the court to consider dissolving  the main opposition Move Forward Party (MFP).

The petition alleged that the MFP’s efforts to change Section 112 of the Criminal Code or the lese majeste law showed an intention to undermine the constitutional monarchy, which violates Section 92 of the organic law on political parties.

The petition also requested the withdrawal of the party’s executives’ right to run for election for a period of 10 years.

Any opposition must be removed.

They just can't accept the will of the people or accept that they got trounced at the polls so any jumped up allegations are the only way they can get at them.

A very sad indictment of the low level of democracy these people have.

Instead of running the country and looking forward in the national interest they can only look back and seek revenge for their own incompetence, abit like Trump.

Is this "Sedition"? Or some other "crime"?

If so, why haven't they been charged?

Seems like this will be difficult to prove.

But the legal system here is fungible

I recognize this is an issue for Thai citizens, but my best advice as a friend of Thailand is that this political move against the majority party and for the stated reason brings more embarrassing discredit to a country claiming to be a democracy. The law in question does need guardrails to stop it from being misused politically to silence critics.

Guess the people on mass will be the only way to change this neanderthal nonsense, the swamp is still full just different faces  🤔
