Popular Post Tropicalevo Posted April 15 Popular Post Posted April 15 I was told last night that the police were carrying out breathalyser checks on Saturday. Probably a good idea. The checkpoint was at Central Festival - by the roundabout. (Also checking for helmets but that is quite common there.) This is the first time that I have heard of breathalysers being used on Samui, but then again, I am a bit of a hermit. Moral of the story - do not drink and drive folks. 2 1

I don't see the funny side. 2

On this particular occasion I was processing company payroll while drinking at my desk, party had finished,so went home to my family, where I had further drinks with my wife. Police didn't really know how to use the device so got away with it, bit of a wake up call.

This is no new thing in Chiang Mai they have the roaming mobile checkpoints for years before covid and from. Long time ago Japanese lady with Thai husband told me she paid 30k what I hear you can't buy your way out of prosecution anymore.
