Tourism Israel-Iran Conflict Puts a Damper on Thailand's Tourist Dreams
The statistics don't support the notion Israelis can't live with Muslims or Arabs of other faiths. "According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, the Israeli Arab population stood at 2.1 million people in 2023, accounting for 21% of Israel's total population."1 Compare that with the number of Jews who live in countries with an Arab or Muslim majority (like Indonesia and Malaysia). Virtually none. 2 The expulsion of Jews from countries in the Middle East is one of the most blatant examples of ethnic cleansing the world has ever seen. I'll quote from a debate in the U.K. Parliament in 2019: "In 1945, 856,000 Jewish people lived in the middle east, north Africa and the Gulf region. Only about 4,500 remain, almost all of them in Morocco and Tunisia. Jewish people have lived continuously in the middle east and north Africa for over 2,600 years, yet in just a few decades they almost totally disappeared. Thousands were expelled or fled their home countries in fear."3 Since 2019, the population of Jews in Tunisia and Morocco has fallen by more than 50%. The speaker goes on to state, "Between 1948 and 1972, pogroms and violent attacks were perpetrated in every Arab country against its Jewish residents. The ethnic cleansing of thousands of Jewish people from the Arab world in the mid-20th century was described by journalist Tom Gross as 'systematic, absolute and unprovoked'.” 4 You need to look into the history of Mandatory Palestine as well as the founding and early history of the state of Israel. In 1947, Palestinian and other Arab leaders REJECTED the U.N. partition plan that would have created separate Palestinian and Jewish states while Zionist leaders accepted it. Arab Armies from five countries tried to crush Israel militarily in 1948, but failed. From the moment Israel was proclaimed a sovereign state and homeland of the world's Jews, Arabs tried to destroy it. In 1967, the Arab League, including the Palestinian Liberation Organization, proclaimed what became known as the Khartoum Three No's at a summit meeting: ... "no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it" ... 5 This came in response to an Israeli appeal for peace negotiations. Arabs were from the beginning the aggressors and rejectionist side. 1https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_citizens_of_Israel 2https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jewish-population-of-the-world#region 3https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2019-06-19/debates/F75D29CB-C4C8-447D-A028-1FA05CD3594D/JewishRefugeesFromTheMiddleEastAndNorthAfrica 4https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2019-06-19/debates/F75D29CB-C4C8-447D-A028-1FA05CD3594D/JewishRefugeesFromTheMiddleEastAndNorthAfrica 5https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/khartoum.asp Blaming all Jews for the actions of the Israeli government is by definition antisemitism, but I doubt your realize that yourself. You imply that people throughout history have had valid reasons for disliking Jews, i.e. antisemitism, and of course that is false. Antisemitism is based solely on unfounded fears and a lack of knowledge. -

There is no need to legalize brothels in Thailand, there are so many operating without problems thanks to the "brown envelope system"! -

Slow Wise transfers
The end of May and early June holidays saw Thai banks closed. It seems that after recent issues with scammers, Bangkok Bank are manually checking incoming transfers from Wise (and maybe others). On Saturday 31st May I made a request for transfer from Wise to my GF's Bangkok bank account and it also said it would arrive on Wednesday 4th June. I cancelled that and sent it to my own Kasikornbank account. It took seconds. I then sent it from my Kasikornbank account to my GF's Bangkok bank account and that took seconds. She was happy 🙂 -
