Led by Speaker Mike Johnson, the Freedom Caucus is determined to prevent any attempts by fellow Republicans to diminish their authority or limit their ability to influence legislative outcomes. In light of recent tensions within the GOP, particularly surrounding the passage of the $1.2 trillion government funding bill and additional aid to Ukraine, the Freedom Caucus remains on high alert for any perceived threats to their position.

 

The catalyst for the formation of FART was a motion filed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former Freedom Caucus member, seeking to potentially remove Speaker Johnson from his leadership role. This move exacerbated existing divisions within the party, prompting concerns among conservatives about potential challenges to their control.

 

 

Rep. Thomas Massie, a libertarian-leaning Republican, has publicly expressed support for Greene's efforts, signaling broader dissatisfaction within GOP ranks with Speaker Johnson's leadership. The Freedom Caucus, along with allies like Massie, is wary of further attempts by centrist Republicans to undermine their influence, particularly regarding the composition of the powerful House Rules Committee.

 

The inclusion of Massie, Rep. Chip Roy, and Ralph Norman on the House Rules Committee, despite objections from some within the party, has been a point of contention. These conservative lawmakers have leveraged their positions to block initiatives supported by Speaker Johnson, prompting calls for their resignation or removal from the committee.

 

The tension within the GOP underscores broader divisions within the party, with competing factions vying for control and influence. So, one quarter of Greene’s legislative action over the past year has been aimed at impeaching the sitting president. And more than a third of her overall efforts are either about impeaching Biden or getting Waters thrown off of committees and/or expelled from Congress. Not one of the nine bills she proposed became law. Not one of the seven resolutions she proposed were approved by the full House.

Border control and illegal immigration have been a political hot spot for decades. Seems like politicians don't want to make the necessary changes. They use it as an issue to get elected. Trump surely does, along with faux News

The FART team collects evidence, gets it together, and passes it to the Special House Investigative Team (the ones have this team for brains) who bring it to the house floor and leave it there, preferably in a flaming bag
