It boasts out-of-date drag acts, cheap accommodation, happy hours, noisy stag and hen parties, and in general, you wouldn't want to be seen there. What Thailand is missing is the new expats, and repeat guests. Being a snowbird myself, the regulars staying through the European winters have greatly diminished! These two categories are usually over 50 and have much bigger spending budgets.
