huberthammer
I have a THAI TIN and filed a Thai Tax report (with zero income) for the tax years 2022 & 2023. In 2024 I will live less than 180 days in Thailand. Do I have to inform the Thai Tax authorities or is it enough that I can show evidence that I spent less than 180 days in the Kingdom?

You don't need to do anything if you are not tax resident in a particular year, no notification is necessary. 1 1

They wont send you one automatically, if you want to file you will have to go to the Revenue office and get a form or file. 1

As an option, you can file online anytime, but the deadline for full year 2023 was 31 March. If you are filing to claw back the 15% tax on bank interest, I can't imagine there would any penalty for filing late if they owe you money. For tax year 2023, I filed my PND 91 electronically using the revenue department e-file website (link below). It was straightforward and only took about 20 minutes in total. I used Google lens to translate a few things. To use e-file you have to create an account and if married, enter spousal info (ID) to get that deduction. https://efiling.rd.go.th/rd-cms/ When I worked for a BOI before I retired, I had to fill in the PND95 manually and file in person. If you are a tax resident, IMO, the e-file system is a much better option if filing a PND91 is required in future years. It's online now; so, they don't send you a tax return form by mail anymore. If you cannot find out to it online, you would normally be able to get help at the local tax revenue office; they might register you, give you a password and do it online for first time. You can download a tax return form in English and prefill, so it's easy for the tax revenue officer. The online tax return is available in English; however, some scroll down options are only shown in Thai language. Last date for tax return was 31st March.

It used to be 100 baht - I paid that years ago when I first did a reclaim on tax withheld on interest and I claimed for 2 years......
hkblademan
Lots of incorrect information on here. You are non resident for the tax year if in Thailand less than 180 days so no need to file a return.

You will need to point out just where that incorrect information is please, the issue of residency was made clear in the second post.

Sometimes the TRD does send out blank forms to people who filed in the previous year but not always. I file some years and not others, based on my circumstances but they stopped sending me forms as soon as I got an online ID.
