I guess CCTV at the station didn't get his number plate to report theft to the police so they could do the chase?

Maybe even reimburse with the more than 500 baht cost of his outward and return journey from Samut Siongkram in his company owned car and reward his skills in avoiding causing accidents during the chase? 😋

Seems a rather risky thing to be doing for the sake of a 500 baht theft... putting a lot of other road users at risk. Surely the number plates could be used to find the owner.... Ford managed to track my Mrs down through the registration on my old truck!
