Father Pressured To Transfer Land To Son, Gets Drunk And Hangs Himself

Depressed Father was pressured to transfer 3 Rais of land to his son in order to sell for moeny to pay off the depth, then got into drinking 4 bottle of whisky with his wife. His wife went to sleep and had left him alone continuing drinking. She was shocked after had woken up to see her husband had hung himself dead.

On the 27 July 2007, at 05.00 am. Pol.Sub. Lt. Phongsathorn Bai-las, Banglamung, rushed to a worker resident of “Sia-Somchai” shipyard, located at 18/7, Soi Pornpraphanimit 12, Moo 6, Nongprue, Banglamung, Chonburi, after being informed that there is a man hung himself dead.

At the incident,officials found a dead body of Mr. Tin Jai-ja, (55) a worker of the shipyard. He was from Kamphangphet province. His body was lying face down by the side of his bed. There is the mark of an aerial cable was tied to his neck. Officials did not see the trace of being attacked. Presumably he had been dead for five hours.

Mrs. Nu Jai-ja (54), his wife, told police in her tears that her husband and herself work for the shipyard for 3 months. They had three children. The oldest son was dead. The middle son is married and living at Nern plabwan and the youngest daughter left her two kids as burden then disappeared for 5 years after her husband had died.

Mrs. Nu said, that evening she and her husband were drinking 4 bottles of whisky in front of the house. Her husband told her that he was very stressful that the middle son has asked him to transfer the 3 Rais of land in Kamphangphet to him in order to sell to get money to pay off his depth of his car. The parents are concerned that if they did that , then they would have nothing for the two grand-children. So they decided that they would be able to transfer only 2 Rais to their middle son. The middle son has been asking and intimidating his father lately and that caused the parents into drinking whisky everyday.

After her husband had a lot to drink, then he was very upset and said that “Take all I have, I am going back my old house, (in expression that he is going to die) everything he wants , just take it” , then Mrs.Nu went to sleep around midnight, left her husband watching TV outside the mosquitoes net. Her grand-children and herself did not expect what was going to happen and not aware that Mr.Tin said he is going back to his old house means. The noise of something fell down on the floor heavily woke them up. Then she turned on the light and was shocked to see her husband tied his neck by the aerial cord behind the TV. to the beam of the roof and dropped himself down and knocked on the TV. She just hoped that her husband was still alive and immediately untied the aerial cord but it was too late that her husband was already dead.

Police assumed that Mr.Tin could not bare with all problems that he had and also was intimidated and abused by his middle son to transfer the 3 Rais of land. He was feeling too upset then decided to hang himself. However, police sent Mr. Tin’s body to be examined thoroughly at the hospital and recorded the daily report. Officials will follow up to investigate the middle son accordingly.
