10-year-old rice auctions resume after safety tests: 

Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai announced the resumption of a 10-year-old rice auction after private lab tests showed no contamination. The Public Warehouse Organisation is overseeing the auction with careful attention. Additional quality checks by the Department of Medical Sciences are ongoing. Phumtham stressed transparency and thorough checks to maintain public confidence. The auction involves 150,000 sacks of rice, with bidders conducting safety tests. This aims to maximize returns from government stocks and prevent selling spoiled rice at low prices
