Not sure what the delay on the '60 day' is...we know it can't be incompetence 😇

Low season began (roughly) 3 months ago so you'd think there might be some urgency. The way things are going, it won't be introduced until high season...which is exactly the time that it's not needed

My (extended) 30 day stamp runs out on Friday. I'll be spending a week in Cambodia again but, as I will have been here for 4 months on B2B exemptions, I'm left pissing in the wind as to whether I should get a bona-fide TR visa or wait for the new exemption to kick in 😔

These are the days...

Says in the other 60 day thread that 60 days didn't happen. Shows a 30 day stamp from today

No surprises there, the PM said yesterday that he'll sign it today.

Perhaps signed by the Prime Minister today, but apparently not yet published in the Royal Gazette.

It seems that the Gazette is published weekly, on Wednesday.

A couple people on a Facebook group posted they got the 60 day stamp:

Are they Russian who would get a 60 day stamp anyway?

Edit: I found the posts on FB and people are asking if Russian but poster is not answering

What nationality?

I'm asking because nationals of a few countries have been getting visa-exempt 60 days under separate rules already for years. Can't find the list on the MFA website anymore.

I don't know, they are unfortunately second hand information. The poster's name on the Facebook group did not sound Slavic, so that's all I could guess.

The AseanNow forum allows posting the link to a Facebook post as citation of the source. Do you know how to do this?

Facebook has multiple posts of this same stamp from several different people so no-one would know who the original source was anymore.

Even Asean Now FB page over one hour ago used the same Pic to announce 60 days now active (but they didn't announce here?)

But no confirmation on AN that the proposed 60 day visa exemption is now active nor confirmation of Gazette announcement of same.🥱

No worries, you'll get 60 days.

Some people today who arrived too early in the day weren't that lucky though.

From other reports the 60 day stamps started at 4:00PM so morning arrivals still got 30.  Possibly they rushed to get it out in the Royal Gazette to get the ball rolling as the PM had already signed approval.

All's well that ends well.

There's been a lot of suspense since pronouncements by government officials started in May that this new visa-exempt 60-day permission to stay would start on 1 June.

Thai Embassy in Australia has been updated with 60 day visa exempt details. It also confirms 60 day visa exempt can be extended by 30 days

The 60 days stay, is it permanent or for how long...

Nothing I've seen indicates its only temporary.

Great news.

It seems All Asean countries except Myanmar are on the list. Game changer for neighbors who usually never get more than 30 days anywhere.
