Thailand is set to host the filming for “Jurassic World 4,” the latest instalment in the iconic Jurassic Park franchise. The filming, directed by Colin Trevorrow, will take place from June 13 to July 16 in several picturesque locations, including Bangkok, Krabi, Trang, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Chiang Mai.

The decision to film in Thailand came as a boon to the national economy, with expectations to inject around 650 million baht through a variety of local services.

Businesses involved in equipment rentals, accommodations, venue hires, transportation, COVID-19 safety measures, and catering services are all likely to benefit from the influx of Hollywood professionals.

Director General of the Department of Tourism, Jaturon Phakdeewanit, highlighted the significance of such international projects. "This is an excellent opportunity for Thailand to showcase its stunning landscapes and receive a substantial economic boost," he said.

The crew will also take advantage of Thailand's incentive program for foreign films, which offers a 20% rebate for investments exceeding 100 million baht in the country.

Among the film's stunning backdrops, the Huai To Waterfall within Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi province is one of the key locations. The lush, untamed landscape is expected to add a unique touch to the film's adventurous scenes. Park authorities are already making preparations to ensure the filming proceeds smoothly and without disruption.

This latest project is set to capture the imagination of audiences worldwide while also bringing significant economic and promotional benefits to Thailand. By merging Hollywood spectacle with Thai natural beauty, “Jurassic World 4” aims to create an unforgettable cinematic experience.

So, keep your eyes peeled and your cameras ready if you happen to be in Thailand this summer—you might just catch a glimpse of dinosaur magic in the making.

This will probably happen even without Hollywood's help.

Ought to be as big of a success as Scorpion King 3, which was shot in Thailand.

Government house..?

There are rather a lot of dinosaurs around in Bangkok........

Perhaps they can get some of the current politicians to star in the film. They could save alot of money on CGI.

Thailand needs alot more than a movie, to save its economy. They are quickly sliding towards international irrelevance.

I remember when The Hangover #whatever was filmed here. Soi Cowboy was supposed to be the venue for the bar scenes. Cowboy bar owners tried to jackup the price at the last minute, figuring the film company was stuck.

Film group said "FU" and immediately moved to Soi 9(?). I happened to wander by the next day, not knowing about the filming and saw "trashed bars", with signage I didn't recognize. Wondered what the hell had happened!

And I hear there's a large colony of dinosaurs in Pattaya Soi 6.

They could add to the story's authenticity by doing some filming in Kalasin Province, well known in Thailand for its dinosaur fossils.

Nominated for 3 Oscars.

Lying, cheating, and stealing.

Will filming also take place in Parliament?

You're only about the 16th person to make that "joke".
