Why don't you just do that! Some people have principles. Being charged money which disappears into the pockets of the few and never benifits the intended, so my answer is NO! Thailand's tourist areas should be absolutely perfect by now with the gazillions of tourist money spent in Thailand.  Look at the sidewalks! Try pushing a wheelchair or pram along them, raw sewage pumped into the sea, lack of security for tourists ie being kicked to death in the streets by rabid packs of feral thai men. One could go on and on. But, let's not forget the hospital scams, taxi scams, government triple pricing for parks the attitude which filters down to every somchi!!! I would gladly pay 1,000baht if if resolved these issues but not one satang to benifit some currupt bureaucrat.

Maybe the complaining goons would consider a professional website, easy to maneuver and surf, in English. The content in some cases is absolute carp; important information like phone number(s) and GPS coordinates are a mandatory item to each and every listing.

What is working very well is a "tourism" card, allowing a visitor for a specified period of time (a day, week, weeks, month) to visit any site.

Quite obviously 9 out of 10 turn away, if a Thai pays 20 Baht for something the non-Thai must pay 500 Baht. Thailand has no monopoly on anything and hence has to orient itself on what the VISITOR wants and not what the Thai vendor/operator wants. But explain that to the semi-divine Khon Thai ..........

They have to reevaluate the development of the sector, and with this look first at why they still are behind and in lack of things. Do not forget that they already have implemented they due charge price system. This does not seem to work.

 

Lesser Chinese tourist can be a solution according to that in the media many complain about them due that they not seem to spend enough?

Don't we spend enough while we're there.....spent a month there recently with my wife eating out renting a scooter hotel accommodation and shopping.....what else do you want 😳

it depends on your perspective, if you're a tourist sure 300 baht is a cup of coffee, it's not going to affect your decision to travel to thailand, but if you're in a position to reap the benefits of 300 baht x every tourist entering the country suddenly it's a lot of money, great for investment in tourist infrastructure, or possibly into a brown bag or a conveniently open pocket...

The Thai people could improve interest in Thai tourism by coming up with their own ideas, but the Thai way is to thrust their own hands shamelessly and shamelessly straight into the tourist's pocket. They always go where the fence is Matalin himself without bothering to develop and ideate the attractiveness of the country in order to get more tourists and with it income, but such "tourist taxes" annoy tourists who already know it when booking a trip and when they arrive in the country, tourist pricing, double pricing starts. In many places, locals get even less than half the cheapest prices. Now this 300B extra, even though it's a small amount and if it comes, it's a guarantee that it will soon go up and up and when they realize how easy it is to take advantage of tourists, if this was the only additional payment for tourists, that's good, but extra payments are required from tourists in many things. Otherwise, the bureaucracy is humiliating for westerners living in Thailand for a long time and makes them feel like criminals.

First, maybe they should show what they did with the 5.3 BILLION BAHT that TAT spent last year or the 12 BILLION BAHT that they spent in the two years of COVID when there was basically ZERO tourism.

300-baht fee for foreign tourists. This fee was intended to establish a tourism development fund.

Be honest and say it is just another institutionalized theft to enrich 0.1% of the privileged money mongers of the kingdom, at the expense of the foreigners who can't strike back in vote.

Completely lacking transparency, who is dumb enough to believe the money robbed from the tourist will be the used for the better being of the workers in tourism sector?

If they ever spend just 3 baths out of each B300-  for the purpose they talked about,

it will  be a  Miracle.
