Thai Fugitive Arrested in Bali After 17-Hour Speedboat Escape: Thai fugitive Chaowalit Thongduang, wanted for multiple murders and drug trafficking, was captured in Bali after fleeing Thai detention. He used a fake Indonesian ID to travel via a 17-hour speedboat journey from India to Indonesia. Indonesian police apprehended him with fake documents and four cellphones. Thai authorities are investigating local accomplices, and Chaowalit will be extradited to Thailand to face charges, including attempted murder of police officers and drug trafficking. The operation cost around 10 million baht ($271,816).
