I frankly agree, though I have not partaken in many years. IMO alcohol abuse is a much greater social detriment. While the drunk is trying to see how fast his Beemer can go through the switchback turns the stoner is waiting for the stop sign to change to green..🤪

Furthermore the weed seems to be more of a middle class industry v the alcohol monopolies.

Within your comment is a very key word ...."abuse". This is one very apt word for why the world is fkd. Abuse of power. Abuse of drugs, Abuse of status. Abuse of .... . I'm sure we can all add to this list.

at 140kmh you are dangerously exceeding the speed limit....who cares what your sensitive nose thinks.

I guess it depends on the speed limit. 120 speed limit on a highway with no other cars and doing 140? It's about perspective I guess. Fastest I've ever been (apart from flying) is 240 kmh. On a motorcycle a long time ago. Not that fast these days.

Somsak reported that the majority of public feedback opposes making cannabis illegal again. Many people prefer cannabis to be regulated and taxed like alcohol or cigarettes. He encouraged continued public participation, assuring that all comments would be considered before finalising any legal draft.

We continue ask you for comment until you tell us to make illegal again.  Happiness to the peasants people (but we plan to throw you in prison and not Thaksin penthouse prison commoners if you smoke).

I couldn't give two fox about your grammar, fred my boy, nor did I bring it up.

Its your pomposity and poor turn of phrase that irk me

I usually try and help others am I'm hardly pompous, so I don't know where you get off saying that. I guess you didn't know that phrases are part of grammar? No one else seems to mind the sentence I wrote. If it irks you, deal with it , or don't read what I post.

if people understood that sending pot heads to jail is expensive, and counterproductive a huge milestone would be achieved. by sending pot heads to jail society is likely turning peaceful people into hardened criminals due to the stigma attached to being labeled a con....

PS... the big question here is who is actually feeding the populace all these bs polls against weed?  the answer... taxin cronies and cops who want the pushback  etc... now it seems most dont want it criminalized again... imho this is the truth

Nice rant. How about some figure to back it up.

I quite believe that it is your opinion, but that does not mean it is the majority of the Thai peoples opinion.

You also claim the the polls against weed are all BS,

If you don't like the results of them, then why not commission your own poll? Only include Thais in it, as they are the ones with the votes and who may possibly be able to exert some pressure on the government.

Good luck with that.

Who is this "majority"? Mostly Chinese owned businesses in Thailand? Farang owned businesses in Thailand?

Let's hold a referendum in Thailand!

Stop cannabis in Thailand!

Are you willing to pay the entire cost of a referendum from your own pocket?

IMHO it should be paid for by Anutin and the BJP

Please show my post where I said put the potheads in jail?

Why should I bother to tell you anything. You will only twist my words anyway.

Please hold your breath while you are waiting,

You won't get a response anyway.

I try to read a thread one post at a time, however it will be quicker now, as I don't need to read and respond to your posts anymore.

Why? Maybe people who don't smoke it and are not invested in it have the sense to see that recriminalisation puts money back into the hands of the drug lords and corrupt officials and don't see this as a positive move.

I don't smoke dope excessively and I don't usually drink to excess. I challenge anyone to tell me what I'm doing is wrong. Coming soon I will be breaking the law, a law that will give money back to real criminals which of course includes not only drug lords but corrupt officials in all levels of government.

That is about the dumbest excuse ever for recreational cannabis.

Who else would you pardon?

Rapists, drunk drivers? Illegal immigrants?

Are you seriously equating smoking a joint with raping someone?  i think you better hold off on pointing the finger on making dumb remarks!

Yes, that's why I corrected you. I'm an empath. One who cares about others. Quite the opposite of a narcissist or one being pompous. Because some people are knowledgeable about certain subjects and put their replies in, you think they are pompous? Time to look inward. GG calls himself a genius. Do you concur? Others here act like teenagers, especially about women. Do you correct them? I have high self esteem, which means I love myself, which means I have the capacity to love others. I don't reply, like you do, when someone states a fact you disagree with, in a negative manner, calling them names. Rather childish don't you think? I might disagree with them, trying to prove a point, but not the way you do. I don't pretend I know everything. Myself, like many others who know a lot about  particular subjects , comment on those subjects to help or disprove one who happens to be wrong, to clarify. Are we all pompous to you? There are quite a few things I know little about, and I usually won't comment on those because they are not things I'm into or research about. Just like most others. Again, you are proven wrong, but again, I expect a comeback because you are ill informed and need to troll.

You just can't stay away can you? Shows a lot to any of us who are informed about your kind. I reiterate, look up empath, look up narcissist, and maybe, just maybe, you'll discover something about you that others see and you can't, or won't.

Yessir!

I admire your ability to muster up a comprehensive psychological diagnosis based on a few textual exchanges.

But let's talk more about you -- about what a good, empathetic, well-educated person you are while you explain to me how I am the narcissist.

Anyway, have a lovely Sunday.

Only a couple people from here actually know me, and they are my friends. I show what I am by what I say, at least a little amount. I'm not pompous by any stretch. In fact, I've been humbled long ago by time, it hurting my joints because I was a heavy lifting bodybuilder for so long, and now I'm paying for all of that. I know quite a bit about some subjects and very little about others, so a know it all doesn't describe me. A narcissist is easy to spot, but many are reluctant to admit they are. Some, like Trump, are malignant, and feel the need to brag to cover their low self esteem. Some, like my ex wife, are covert narcissists, and suck you in with love bombing until they have you trapped, and then the claws come out, using silent  treatment as a weapon to hurt you, very often just because they are feeling bad about themselves. They will cheat on you and blame you, hit you and say you made me, all because they were mad at themselves or others. Many will disagree with anything you say, just to cause an argument, and call you names because they are still like the 5 year olds that were neglected, abused or spoiled when they were with their parents.

The public also wanted MFP to form the government...and look how that turned out - what the public wants and what it gets are often two vastly different things. And that applies to most countries in the world, not just Thailand.

Everything in Thailand is now being decided by Money Bags Tony who has proved that his money can buy anything in Thailand, including political power after losing an election immediate release from prison despite an 8 year sentence confirmed by the supreme court etc etc.  Let's hope he finally gets locked away for his insults to the Privy Council, which serves at the pleasure of HMK  in the Korean newspaper interview.  But he has already began the process of endless appeals for "fair treatment" like the Red Bull brat did before fleeing the country.

When he became PM in 2000, Tony actually brought some ideas with him, such as universal healthcare to help offset his authoritarian rule and rampant corruption.  Now all he can offer is the digital wallet, resulting in more taxes for Thais and foreigners but Thais still get the authoritarianism and rampant corruption.  The sooner he vacates the political scene, or even shuffles off his mortal coil, the better life will be for everyone in Thailand.
