Popular Post save the frogs
there was a thread about this a while back. some people think drinking in the morning is perfectly fine in retirement as you've worked all your life and now you should be allowed to kick back. other people think you need help. 1

I prefer kicking back a few (small) beers early daytime, gives me a nice appetite for lunch and no fog waking up in the morning. It's not a daily routine as sometimes I indulge in the afternoon, sometimes not at all. I won't deny perhaps I need help, but not about drinking beer. Guys in the movies seem to really enjoy hard liquor straight up, I don't see the pleasure. So, I stick with beer and wine. 3 1

impulse
The appropriate response would have been to offer her a ride to the ER. She may need medical help. Lady obviously doesn't even know what country she's in.

You probably have a small problem - but if you are healthy, who cares? personally, I rarely drink during the daytime and try not to drink at all 2 or 3 days a week to give my liver a rest 1

You are probably right, but my father drank wine every day and died at 92 - Churchill ran WW2 and was drunk most days 🙂 1

daveAustin
... the mistake was not telling her to go and do one. Surely much more satisfying than initial response? But, yes, proper beachbum. 😋
Popular Post ChaiyaTH
Most people are just simpletons, judging on stereotype lifestyles that in reality suck and seem to kill people more likely earlier than that it makes them live longer. I mean as simple as this: people waking up at 9:00 who then decide to get a beer or wine at the terrace at 15:00 would not even be frowned upon twice. A person who wake up daily at 04:00 and does the same thing at 10:00 would be considered a alcoholic, idiot, etc etc etc. I can see people look even I drink at like 13:00-14:00 on week days, them not knowing I already did my 6 hour work day that very morning. Tons of benefits to drinking earlier too, if you not continue until you sleep, the alcohol wears off way before you do go to sleep and you can almost me guaranteed to wake up fresh and without any hangover again, the next morning. This as a result of better sleep. And not need to deal with annoying night time drunks, the real stereotype. It can be cheaper too as of happy hours, you can get better seats, you can get cheaper and nicer day time ladies for pleasure, and the list goes on and on. In most blue zones in the world, were people get the oldest by far, they drink a lot of wine and beer. Wine from lunch is the standard, not the exception. And guess what: over 50% of the people have obesitas, they have a lot of stress and they also mostly sit on their ass all day. Yet almost nobody would point that out. Popular Post Hummin
In my mid 50ies, more or less stopped drinking before 50, and in better shape than ever since my late 20ies. Incredible how much time and energy socializing with alchohol take away from a sustainable healthy lifestyle. Everything most expats do in Thailand is combined with alchohol. Very few socializing arenas I have found except going to the gym is linked to drinking. 1

More or less stopped drinking allow a sharing bottle of quality wine once and awhile, or a beer or two with my buddies. If I drink 5 units or more at Saturday, I can still feel it monday and thuesday. Can take a week before I can do a max lift again in the gym. Thats how bad alchohol can bee and feel for some. Now the shrewdest of our ANF Life Coaches have always promoted that short but happy life ending with a smile on one's face during a bonk. Longer life merely means a longer time suffering in the bedsit. Healthy lifestyle = stress. We all know of The Guys: The Guys I know some guys who seemed healthy but have already died. As opposed to our guarantor, The Relative: The Relative A relative of mine did nothing special and lived to 95. Oh, I will too. It's me genes. What's ignored by our Medicated Lifestyle proponents is that chasing after docs, meds, hospitals, insurance, paying medical bills, carrying around a belly, suffering premature physical and mental decline, pain controlled by medication. When you think about it, the quality achieved becomes rather doubtful . . . Edited June 23 by BigStar
