Pro-Palestinian students sprayed red paint over Cambridge University's historic Senate House as a form of protest against the Israeli bombing of Gaza. The students, in collaboration with Palestine Action, targeted the 18th-century graduation hall, demanding that the University of Cambridge "divest from genocide."

The protest occurred just a week before the Senate House was scheduled to host graduation ceremonies. Palestine Action tweeted about the incident, stating: "BREAKING: Cambridge Students, in collaboration with Palestine Action, spray historic hall red demanding the University of Cambridge divest from genocide. The action took place ahead of planned graduations at the University's Senate House."

This is not the first disruption of graduation ceremonies due to protests. Last month, graduation events had to be relocated from the Senate House to a secret location following a similar protest against the war in Gaza. The Cambridge for Palestine group previously set up tents outside King's College and later moved to the lawn outside the Senate House as part of their demonstration.

In related actions earlier this week, members of Palestine Action forced entry into the Instro Precision factory at Sandwich Discovery Park in Kent. Eight individuals were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and have since been bailed, with a police investigation ongoing. A spokesperson for Palestine Action stated, "Palestine Action's decommissioning of Elbit Systems' electro-optics weapons sights factory in Kent has left the Instro Precision site immobilized, unable to produce weapons parts for export to Israel."

The protests at Cambridge are part of a broader wave of campus activism across the UK in solidarity with Gaza. At the beginning of May, students from Oxford and Cambridge set up encampments in front of their universities, demanding an end to the violence in Gaza and calling for various forms of institutional divestment and support for Gaza's education system. These sit-ins have been mirrored at other British universities including Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Sheffield, and Newcastle.

At Oxford, students established a "liberated zone" outside the Pitts Rivers museum, listing six demands including boycotting Israeli actions, ceasing banking with Barclays, and helping to rebuild Gaza's education infrastructure. Similarly, Cambridge for Palestine has vowed not to leave their encampment until the university meets their four demands, which include disclosing financial ties with organizations they deem complicit and protecting at-risk students.

Palestine Action group is very active on X with numerous posts on their continuing vandalism throughout the UK. Seven of their members were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary at a factory in Kent. Protest group Palestine Action said members had targeted the Instro Precision factory at Discovery Park, Sandwich.

"A glimpse into how Palestine Action destroyed Kent's Israeli weapons factory.

After seven actionists broke in on Monday morning and caused over £1million worth of damage, the site remains SHUT DOWN."

I know that will cost at least $1,000 to remedy given the price of wages. Setting up the scaffold and renting it will cost more than that. All involved need to be charged with felonies. Upon arrest confiscate some DNA evidence and match it to see who was on the wall. Open and shut case and the mug shot can be searched so no potential employer gets stuck with them. Also many landlords frown upon criminals damage to oroperty charges.i am not sure many schools would want them as transfer students either.

Students?
Rude scum they are, if they were students, then revoke all licences and kick back to their 'home' country.

For the improvers, yes I know they have no 'home' country.

Each time one of these events takes place, I bet they get Nigel Farage another 50,000 or 60,000 votes.

Historically, vandalism seems to be a way of making a point. Throwing someone else's tea into Boston harbor or burning down the White House were seen as making a point. Defacing national icons during the french revolution also.

In all cases, action was taken against vandals, as well as, no doubt, will take place now.

The tea incident was a prelude to a revolution. Burning down the White House was the result of an invasion. Not just "making a point." I suspect the people involved in these antics want something similar.

Let's hope so.

Penelope and Barnaby need jail time.

Imagine any of this lot trying to rule the country after a "revolution".  First item of business would be where to locate the gulag.

How about the North of Scotland.....

I'd say it's a protest but  not such a good protest as it was also vandalism...much like throwing soup on a "masterpiece" or paint on Stonehenge.

The Oct 7th attack was an genocide attempt , Israel's response is to hold those responsible for the attack accountable

The October 7 attack was without any doubt whatsoever an obscenity an outright atrocity deserving of unequivocal condemnation.

But very clearly it was not a genocide.

Call it what it was and condemn it for what it was.

That depends who gives an opinion, and he did say an attempted genocide:

Part of Israel's defense at the ICJ

"What makes South Africa’s ICJ case an especially egregious inversion of reality, however, is that while it also ignores Hamas’ other countless war crimes, there is prima facie evidence that the October 7 pogrom was itself an act of genocide or attempted genocide, and thus Israel’s defensive war in response to Hamas’ genocidal attack is outrageously being condemned as genocide."

And that is of course a completely unbiased opinion.

Fair enough, just wall them in, turn off the electric and water to the area,  and wait for them to run out of food, water and toilet facilities. Either that or just spray them with a 6 month lasting dye

And then bring in the planes to bomb them and their children from the air and then send in the tanks to bomb their houses, cars and businesses to give them the full effect.
