Thap Lan National Park faces the potential loss of 265,286 rai of forest land due to an agricultural land reform project, according to Chaiwat Limlikhitaksorn, National Park Office Director. Concerned about this significant reduction, he has called on the public to oppose the government’s move through an online poll organised by the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation until July 12.

Chan clinches presidency of Pathum Thani with slim win

Yesterday, Chan Puangpetch, backed by the ruling Pheu Thai Party, won the presidency of the Pathum Thani Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO). The race was close, with Chan receiving 203,032 votes, barely defeating Police Lieutenant General Kamronwit Toopkrajang, who gathered 201,212 votes.

Thai Tuna Exports Experience Major Increase With Double-Digit Growth

Over the first five months of this year, Thailand saw a 13% growth in its canned tuna exports, reaching a value of $979 million, says Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, the head of the Trade Policy and Strategy Office (TPSO) in Thailand. There was a 19.4% increase in canned tuna exports compared to the previous year, reaching 221,092 tonnes. This rise could partly be due to the use of canned tuna in pet food production.
