Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said the United States ambassador proposed that the Thai air force purchase  F-16 fighter jets, however many points still needed to be discussed – including the PM’s requirement for the United States' to invest an equal amount in Thailand. However The air force denied all knowledge of the US offer.
Thailand was also considering a a proposal from Sweden to sell its SAAB Gripen fighter jets.  

 

A woman was killed and 18 others were injured when a car bomb exploded in front of a police building in Yala. Five were seriously wounded with shrapnel and glass, there was light damage to the flat and nearby houses. Authorities cordoned off the area, incase of further attacks. Police, said the bomb was in a gas cylinder planted in a blue Toyota vehicle stolen from a government office on Saturday.

 

An anti-human trafficking organization, Exodus Road, has petitioned Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to assist 21 Moroccan citizens who have fallen victim to a scammer gang operating on the Thai-Myanmar border. Despite the Moroccan embassy's efforts to seek help from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the army, and police, without success,  the group says victims are kept in a room where they are routinely tortured and forced to call their families to demand a ransom of between 6 and 8,000 dollars, or risk being sold off to another gang.
