A more likely scenario is Gazprom itself blew up the pipeline after Putin banned exports of gas to so-called unfriendly countries. Gazprom was facing billions of dollars of penalties in breach of contract. With the pipeline gone, it became force majeure, under which no penalties applied.

Most contracts are written in US dollars, how many do you think Russia has after being shut out of the world financial system?

As another poster has said, Putin shut off the gas to Europe well before the destruction of the pipeline. And Gazprom was facing huge penalties for breach of contract as a result. Perhaps you have not heard, Putin owns half of Gazprom.

 

The "cancer of the planet" enables world trade, both in a reserve currency and ocean security.

Please tell me who the hell wants yuan, rubles, reals or rands.
