An Upset Widow Commits Suicide

Featured Replies

The Banglamung Police were informed by Pong Sub-district’s assistant village headman on 29th July that a resident had committed suicide

by drinking poison and needed the police’s assistance to handle the deceased person’s body.

The police arrived at the scene to find the body of Mrs. Chanya Bamrung, aged 30, lying on a bench. There were no signs of disturbance in the area. Next to her body the team found a water bottle with some blue liquid left inside, which the woman must have taken to commit suicide.

Mr. Mana Ketthong, aged 30, told the police that Mrs. Chanya is a widower and he had been living with her for 2 years.

He said that they have been having a lot of arguments lately since she kept comparing him with her ex-husband who she claimed took better care of her.

Earlier that night before they went to sleep; they had another argument and Mrs. Chanya stated that she was going back to her hometown if he didn’t love her. He ignored her completely and fell asleep. He woke up that morning to find her downstairs already dead.

The police think that Mrs. Chanya committed suicide because Mr. Mana did not pay attention to her; but sent her body for an autopsy to make certain it was suicide.
