Assisted Dying Debate Gains Momentum as MP Wins Ballot for Private Member’s Bill
My Grandfather died of stomach cancer at home 70 years ago, the doctor would make daily visits to give him morphine, eventually my grandmother begged the doctor to help him on his way, he said he wasn't allowed to do that but he could increase the morphine dose to ease the pain, an hour later my grandfather was dead, so the doctor had let his humanity rule over laws in the end. -

White House Condemns Tucker Carlson’s Interview with Holocaust Denier
That is not what he is saying. He quoted a letter where a German Kommadant complained that there was no food and wondered if it might not be more humane to shoot the Soviet prisoners of war than to let them perish slowly through starvation. However, this was in connection with Cooper's condemnation of the Wehrmacht for starting a war in which they failed to make adequate provision to feed millions of prisoners of war. Cooper is correct to say that many prisoners of war starved for this reason due to a lack of food and malnutrition. This is in no way a statement about Romas, Jews, the Holocaust, death camps and such, and in no way denies any of these. UK Considers Sending Prisoners to Estonia to Ease Overcrowding Crisis
People will always dream of a better life somewhere else in the world. Which is why this forum exists, and why there is so much discussion about the ins and outs of the Thai immigration system, including on occasion, discussion on how to game the process, tax evasion, bordering criminality. The case of Maurice (Mo) Robinson illustrated the complex nature of the criminal gangs involved. Mo Robinson was the trucker found in Essex with a container full of dead Vietnamese in October 2019. After crossing from Belgium, Robinson was supposed to proceed to a truck stop, and meet men in various cars to take away his load of people. Gangs in Vietnam arranged for these people to travel to Europe, and had obtained for many, actual visas. Some got study visas in Poland. Others worked as fruit pickers in Hungary. They were instructed to proceed to a farm outside of Paris. Some had told worried relatives back home, that they were using a "VIP Package", which wouldn't involve going in the back of a lorry, and they could pay the £10,000-20,000 fee upon arrival in the UK. The men convicted in the UK were from Romania, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It involved men who were well known in the Loyalist community and men known from the Republican side. It involved British truck companies who register their trucks in Bulgaria to avoid UK MOT and insurance requirements. So far, while there are Vietnamese gangs, in Vietnam and in the UK, related to this particular car, none have been convicted yet, though I see reports of various Vietnamese involved in other cases being sentenced. The focus should really be on breaking the gangs, involving multi-national police investigations. Very complex. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
It is called FATCA for the US of A. So you are correct that USA is not part of CRS but nevertheless the US transmits data to other countries under FATCA rules which is very similiar to CRS. I am not aware if currently the US IRS transmit data to Thailand. However the USA transmits currently a similiar dataset as CRS from the US to Germany for example. https://www.bzst.de/DE/Privatpersonen/Selbstauskuenfte/FATCA/fatca_node.html -

Baht becoming ridiculously strong
Ok, so my apologies I just thought that just about all the world (exaggeration here) knew Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris: The Vice President The White House (.gov) Kamala D. Harris is the Vice President of the United States of America. She was elected Vice President after a lifetime of public service, And Kamala Harris appears so stupid when she speaks, that I was suggesting that her presence as a vice-president of the US was enough to to bring down the value of the US dollar, and making the Thai baht stronger as a result. So my laconic reply did not go well with you... -
