Patong Police have yet to confirm their course of action regarding a motorcycle taxi driver who attacked two tourists from the United Arab Emirates. The assault occurred in Soi Saen Sabai on July 29.

The violent incident happened outside the Hallo Massage shop, resulting in injuries to the tourists. Police were notified about the incident around 10 pm.

The victims, Mohamed Abdulla Hassan Mirak Alblooshi, 33, and Abdullah Mohammed Ali Ibrahim, 25, were walking near the massage shop when the taxi driver honked at them to clear the way. After they moved out of the way, the driver parked his motorcycle and attacked the tourists before quickly departing.

The assailant has been identified as Patthipat Phuengpisawong, a 30-year-old motorcycle taxi driver who resides in Moo 6, Kathu, according to police.

"The victims reported the assault to our investigative officer, who is now working on tracking and arresting the suspect," a police spokesperson said.

The investigation is still ongoing as police are working hard to find the suspect and bring him to court.

Another thai Moto-Taxi driver attacking someone....

... Tuk-tuk driver, Taxi Driver, moto-taxi driver.... It seems a regular occurrence

Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that we had one of these stories ???...

... in that thread it was argued by LL that "A couple of times over several years would be more accurate"...

..... which was contradicted, but difficult to argue because LL always asks for documented proof...

... here is it...  two attacks within a month..

and here was the earlier thread / comments:

Would have been nice to know if they were walking on the road, blocking traffic like Indians do, or were they on the footpath (where motorbikes often travel).

So, if they were, does that legitimize a beating?

The UAE pair probably assumed (incorrectly) that the footpath is for pedestrians.

Are you two guys seeing each other?

i think you may be over dramatizing it a bit with millions of taxi and motorcycle taxi trips happening every single day. There will always be a few idiot customers and incidents and misunderstandings because of language and cultural differences.

i find taxi services in Thailand one of the positives here, easier to get a taxi here and much cheaper than the UK, and the Wins are very handy, quick and cheap.

Some people just like to moan about everything instead of appreciating how good life here is. They can not cope very well.
They should catch a taxi to the airport.

This happens in Pattaya also.  The Indians are notorious for ignoring the car and motorbike traffic.  Honestly, 80% of my motorbike taxi guys curse them and push them out of the way.  Something big will happen soon.  Education is the key to this issue.

Must be tough when you only have his name and address to go on.
