Shadows grow so long before my eyes

And they're moving across the page

Suddenly trhe day turns into night..

...Far away from the city.

I think you may be missing the thread title its meant to be massive hits and well known songs. Such as " We skipped the Lights fandango turned some cartwheels across the floor.

Get the lyrics right Marra.

the words are correct KannikaP on this sight. Its a fun thread. Some sites place Such Cartwheels before it. If you can't think of this historic song due to one word missing you don't need to correct me.

I never said that I could not identify the song. I just like things to be correct, on this sight and all other sites!

Excuse me while I kiss the sky

Am I happy or in misery?
What ever it is, that girl put a spell on me

Would that be a well known Hendrix song Save ?

OK. How about Ýour multilingual business friend, has packed her bags and fled, leaving only ash filled ashtrays, and the lipsticked unmade bed.

Heres one...

I would  have liked you to have been deep frozen too.

and waiting, still as fresh in the flesh for my return to earth.

but your father refused to sign the forms to freeze you...

Lets see, you'd be about sixty now. And long dead by the time that I return to earth...

That’s the Spirit of the Age, off Live ‘79 album ?

I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you

I had to do a search to find the lyrics as it is quite an old song (45-55 years).  During the search I can across an interview with the co-creator of the song and was surprised by his explanation of the song creation.  I'll post a link to that after the dust settles.

the rythm of the lyrics would match sonny and cher 'i got you babe'

It's like you're standing at the window of a house nobody lives in and I'm sitting in a car across the way.

Let's just say, an early model Chevrolet. You go and pack your sorrows, the trash man comes tomorrow,

leave 'em at the curb and we'll just drive away!

This is true. They have a bit of a niche market. The original version of the track Motörhead, written when Lemmy was their bassist before they kicked him out is worth a listen

There are some things you can't cover up
With lipstick and powder
Thought I heard you mention my name
Can't you talk any louder?
