No they don't prove that whatsoever. You are confusing capability versus desire and need. The BP tells us that 25% of the 38 million strong workforce already file tax returns, the other 75% don't, mostly because there is no need. The average wage in Thailand is between 12k and 15k a month. A married couple with one child can earn 300k per year between them or 25k a month, before they need to pay tax. (60k x 2, +30k, +150K). The major budget expense over the past two decades has been government subsidies aimed at the poor, those 75%, successive governments have ploughed huge amounts into that, in order to stay in power. Trying to pursue that same group for tax is akin to the UK government chasing UK pensioners for tax on the State Pension, it does not instill confidence in the government. It's blatantly clear to me that the TRD knows how to increase the tax net and how to successfully undertake tax collection, but going after the rural poor doesn't accomplish that. No government here has ever said, let's go tax the poor and they almost certainly never will. For that reason, the TRD has not tried to expand the tax net in that way, except where it has seen blatant abuse and fraud. The people who comprise the 50% of GDP that represent the informal labor force or grey economy is a slightly more tricky problem. Many of those people moonlight outside of their regular tax paying jobs (I know several HomePro employees who do), Many still don't earn over the 25k a month to where they must file a return. 25% of the Work Force filing a tax return may be about as good as it gets, there may not be many more, until people start earning more, or, until government reduces TEDA to reduce the threshold. -

Wise receipts + Thai bank receipts as proof of monthly transfers (retirement visa)
I will check it, thanks for the idea. I do have K bank internet banking though I had forgotten it! However, the Wise receipt says funds delivered via "Local Bank Transfer." Hope springs eternal. For the record, immigration hopefully will update their list of accepted documents to mirror the times we live in. Times where Wise receipts should be good enough. That's my 2 cents. -

Today I met the first farang returning home because of exchange rate
For those who seem unaware, the THB has been 'strong' for a long time - this is the GBP to THB for 25 years. For much of that time the GBP was higher than it has been since the Junta took over. For those also unaware, the world's monetary 'police' are only making sure countries do not Undervalue their currency (like China) so their Exports grow. There is SFA policing of those countries that Overvalue their currency so their Imports cost less. -

This should be all over the news. It even connects different types of UFO videos. At first it looks just like the Navy video of the submersible UFO then at the end you actually see it changing shapes! You see it transform into the flat round black disc! Truly amazing sighting captured on video. -

Praytell who is allowed, and who is not allowed, to endorse a candidate? Is there some Amendment to the US Constitution that says what the qualifications must be for an endorser? -

I Hate Donald Trump
I saw the title and couldn't resist clicking on it. I noticed that a mod changed the title to what it is now, so naturally I'm curious what it was before. To those for which the title resonates (tingle down the leg and what not), have you noticed that no such titles with Kamala's name substituted in are appearing? My guess is that's because there's not really anything there to either like or dislike. She's a nothing and a nobody, and it shows for all the world to see. But I will admit that she has (or used to have) one particular talent that appeals to some ... -

Comes a time that a country can't realistically support massive immigration; lack of housing, infrastructure and mainly jobs. It makes sense to stop bringing more in when it reaches that stage. NZ IMO passed the cut off mark 2 million ago and the place just can't cope
