In a heartfelt gathering at the Pheu Thai headquarters yesterday, 141 MPs celebrated Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on the eve of her 38th birthday. The event served as both a celebration of Paetongtarn and a tribute to her predecessor, Srettha Thavisin.

Paetongtarn, who officially turns 38 today, arrived at the party’s Shinawatra 3 Building headquarters, accompanied by the 62-year-old Srettha. The duo was warmly welcomed, with former public health minister and ex-party leader, Cholnan Srikaew, presenting a birthday cake adorned with a picture of Paetongtarn receiving the royal command for her appointment as Thailand’s 31st prime minister. The cake bore the message, “HBD38 & Happy New PM#31.”

Cheers and the rendition of the birthday song filled the room, reflecting the camaraderie and festive mood among the MPs. Following the celebrations, the members gathered for their weekly meeting, highlighting the party’s ongoing unity.

Pheu Thai Secretary-General Sorawong Thienthong acknowledged Srettha’s tireless efforts over the past two years—one year of campaigning and another year as prime minister. His dedication laid a solid foundation for the party's future endeavours.

Paetongtarn, in her speech, conveyed profound gratitude for Srettha’s contributions, highlighting his achievements and dedication. She remarked, “I and other Pheu Thai members never imagined that Srettha would have achieved so much.”

Srettha, confirming his unwavering support for Paetongtarn and the party, reinforced his commitment, receiving a standing ovation. The gesture cemented his respected position within the party, leaving a lasting legacy.
