EXPAT TAXATION - Does anyone really know what's going on?
If things worked so corruptly, you would be in Thailand. -

Is the Tax compliance going to be linked to Visa issuance ?
Incorrect. The husband will be ASKED TO PROVE HOW HE IS SUPPORTING HIMSELF. This is so obvious I am amazed it hasn't occurred to people. -

Is the Tax compliance going to be linked to Visa issuance ?
Correct. And if you meet with the official who takes the "do you think we are stupid" attitude then you'll be tortured. And your wife too. For all of you that have never had a tax audit, you really don't want to FAFO with these people in any country.- 1

The award for the most dangerous Highway in Thailand goes to....
The 1095 Chiang Mai to Pai is quite a 'tastey' road for uninitiated, over 700 corners, around 130kms. Weather can change very quickly before reaching the downward section, great road for the big bike. It's claimed alot of lives over the years especially young people on scooter type bikes. -

Western Union better than “Wise”
It depends on what reason you choose on Wise for the transfer. If you select the last option 'long long-term living expenses in Thailand' it will take longer to transfer but is flagged as a foreign transfer. If you choose any other option it is flagged as an internal transfer. I transfer directly from my bank every time as the fee from Wise is smaller than using a debit card and the money arrives in seconds. I don't need it to be a foreign transfer. I did it two days ago. My bank forces me to authorise the transfer using an electronic PIN machine so perhaps other banks delay the funds transfer until it has been authorised. -

Foreign pickup driver flees after crashing into Thai woman in Phuket
Tailgating - very common in countries with poor driver education... drivers just copying the way others drive and driving habits such as this become legacy behavior. Because other vehicles do not stop when the light turns red - Just watch at the junctions, see a light turn red then count all the cars going through on red, usually at least 5. ... So drivers don't pull away from the lights quickly, becasue there is a higher liklihood of a truck-blowing through the red light and t-boning them... hence the caution, which is also just copying the way others drive and driving habits such as this become legacy behavior. Careful doing that, you'll caught out by a vehicle blowing through a red light. On the acceleration thing - its true, Thai's tend not to acellerate quickly, after passing through lights or / toll booths - the built up speed slowly, then the brakes is the last thing they want to touch. Valid question... I think when pulling away some think they are being efficient and down want to accelerate too hard, but then a lot do the same thing - again, I think this is legacy behavior - drivers copying the way they've seen others behave. -

Israel’s Special Forces Ground Raid Destroys Iranian Missile Factory in Syria
xxxx I do say something. I say Israel has acted on the authority of its 7.2 million Jewish citizens and the other 7.8 million Jews in the world. Syria and Israel have been in a state of perpetual war since 1948. Syria refuses to recognize Israel as a sovereign state, so no long-term peace is possible. Syria's choice, not Israel's. Same-same with Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah. They are dedicated to the eradication of Israel and its Jewish citizens. And that's only the beginning. Every day Israel stands against the hatred of two billion Muslims and 450 million Arabs. Muslims, Arabs, Syria, Iran. Hamas, Hezbollah, pro-Palestinian demonstrators and @john donson and @frank83628 all have to realize one thing: This time round, Jews won't walk passively to extermination. After 75 years, the enemies of Israel still haven't grasped it. Palestinians in particular have a very long learning curve, much to their own detriment and suffering. Speaking of long lerning curves ... No one is labeled an anti-Semite because they question or criticize the policies of the government of Israel. Through the years, millions of Jews inside and outside Israel have done just that and they certainly aren't antisemitic. The test for antisemitism is quite easy; one single yes-or-no question: Does Israel have the right to exist behind secure borders as the homeland to the world's Jews? No evasion or qualification is allowed; the answer is either yes or no. If the answer is "no," then the person is a Jew hater. Most Jew haters will either refuse to answer or hide behind a wall of words. So I ask @frank83628: Does Israel have the right to exist behind secure borders as the homeland to the world's Jews? No moral equivalence exists between Israel and Iran. Israel is fighting to defend its existence and save the lives of its citizens. Iran is a theocratic dictatorship that embodies the worst type of religious fanaticism. Israel is driven by the need to guarantee a homeland and last refuge for a group that's been persecuted for centuries and subjected to genocide in the past century. An irrational hatred of Jews is the driving factor for Iran.- 1

No Honey No Money
But be realistic. Though I agree a bit you've got to sell yourself a bit at some point to seal the deal with some girls - who may not be total gold diggers but simply after a secure relationship and secure future. -
