Krabi, a  school van carrying students was struck by a falling tree during a powerful storm, leaving 14 people injured, including the driver, who is in serios condition. Fortunately, none of the students sustained life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred at approximately 16:30, on September 4, rescue workers from the Pracharuamjai Foundation in Khao Phanom District, Krabi Province, received a call reporting that a large tree had been blown down by strong winds and had crashed onto a school van. The accident took place on the Khao Phanom-Thung Yai Road in Moo 8, Khao Phanom Subdistrict. Rescue teams immediately rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found a gray Toyota van, license plate Bangkok, immobilised in the middle of the road, with a massive tree collapsed onto its roof, severely damaging the vehicle. Inside the van, 14 people were injured, including the driver, identified as Mr. Amornsak, 42, who sustained serious injuries. He was quickly transported to Khao Phanom Hospital for emergency treatment.

The other 13 passengers were students, consisting of five boys and seven girls, aged between 6 and 18, as well as a 38-year-old woman. They suffered minor injuries from the impact, with some sustaining cuts from broken glass. Rescue personnel promptly took them to Khao Phanom Hospital for treatment. After receiving treatment all 13 were discharged, but the driver remained hospitalised for further care.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the van had been transporting students from Khao Phanom District after school, heading towards their homes in Phru Tiao Subdistrict. As the van approached the accident site, heavy rain and strong winds began to batter the area, causing a large tree by the roadside to snap and fall directly onto the van. The force of the impact caused significant damage to the vehicle and resulted in the injuries reported.
