Phuket Named World’s Most Overcrowded Destination Amid Tourism Boom
Yes, agree. The statistics I read in the paper are hilarious. Statistics 101, a great class in college, more people should take it. 😂 It's raining again today 🤣 As long as it doesn't flood again I'll be happy. -

BREAKING NEWS Second Assassination Attempt-Secret Service get Trump to safety
I’m not diverting Jonny. I stated he voted for Trump in 2916, that is true. As for this outburst: “It's like saying one of the terrorists who flew into the twin towers once went to a church service in 1993 therefore the 911 attacks in 2001 had nothing to do with Islam.” I have never said anything of the sort, it’s something that came out of your own head. Get a grip of yourself Jonny.- 1

Thailand launches app to replace physical driving licences
Full article mentions in the end that alternatives are: Screens of QR app Photos of DL B/w copy of DL but must show both sides. Because the QR code is on back side the cops can check it with their scanner from app/photo/copy. So no need for this app actually. -

Minivan Collides with Pickup Truck at Chanthaburi Intersection: 20 Injured
Hmmm... so the pick-up slowed as the lights turned yellow-red... But the Van driver saw the lights changing and 'gunned it' also expecting the pickup to 'gun it'... before he realised the pickup was stopping, it was too late to avoid him.... Purely speculative - but this seems standard procedure here to 'accelerate' if drivers think the lights are about to change, instead of gently slowing down. Also - 19 passengers were crammed into a 14 seater van - that highlights the safety standards at play here... seatbelts ??? (chances any were worn at all ?)... ------------ Mini-van deaths after mini-van deaths... Trucks with break failure blowing through lights - wiping out a family... Busses rolling down a ravine - killing travellers... Boats capsizing in flooded waters of Chaophraya - Killing passengers... InterIsland speed boats / longtail boats capsizing killing - tourists... Unsupervised infants and children drowning in ponds... An almost weekly common theme of completely avoidable deaths... 'Talks of change'... clearly these talks of change never happen... !!! https://thethaiger.com/news/national/horrific-chonburi-collision-spurs-talks-change -

Wife transfers from dependent visa to Retirement Visa in case I pass away before her.
That's what I thought. They aren't entirely ogres there. I mean, this situation must come up many times throughout the year, I would think. I was trying to find out if there is a standard procedure, but I was dreaming....hahah -

Phuket Named World’s Most Overcrowded Destination Amid Tourism Boom
Fair enough. But that was my point if it's such an overcrowded destination then it would be rammed whatever the season. which it isn't because as most of us know it's rainy season and it's quiet here. but loads of destinations don't have a rainy season so surely they're much more overcrowded over a year. I think stats can fit any narrative if needed. for example take the stat they used and use it a ridiculous way....... 118 tourists to each resident. if there is only one resident that means there is only 118 tourists so not exactly overcrowded. I'm using the extreme obviously but it's just to show the stat they're using means nothing. -

Guys, they almost got away with memory-holing this!
OK, it is just my take on things but if I had been rejected by 3 million of my fellow citizens in 2016, and 7 million in 2020, I do believe I would have taken the more than a hint. Not predicting but hoping to see a popular American citizen vote defeat of over 10 million in 2024.- 1

passport required for domestic flights? I have a Thai DL
I wonder if a US passport card (not book) would be accepted by Thai airlines as it is official government-issued photo ID. It can be obtained from US Embassy Bangkok just like a regular passport book. It does not have the same passport number as that in the passport book, but does have your full name and photo. It cannot be used in lieu of a passport book, except for use in entering the US from Canada, Mexico, and some Caribbean countries. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/need-passport/card.html#:~:text=The card is proof of,cheaper than the passport book. -

Wife transfers from dependent visa to Retirement Visa in case I pass away before her.
Thank you. I just read one of the six pages of comments in the link (and will read them later). One option is to immediately transfer 800,000 THB from the USA into her account and then slowly over a few weeks take out the money out of my immigration account via internet banking and put the money in the joint account. I don't know why the bank would be notified of my death? Do they do that here? In the USA Social Security is notified by the funeral home almost immediately. Several years ago the bank manager at our branch practically told us in the case of death to transfer the money out of the immigration account pretty quickly. Leave a few thousand baht in the account to keep it active. She said, just don't tell me what you are doing, I don't want to know. One of the comments in the link you sent me is that in the USA one of the first things you do is get into the safety deposit box and take out the money, etc. before anyone finds out. I had a friend that did that and walked out with a couple of backpacks of money. A relative of mine busted a hole in her mother's kitchen wall and took out the money....true story. 😅 -

Villagers flock to sacred tree spirit for lottery blessings
Villagers Flock to Sacred Tree Spirit for Lottery Blessings In a more mystical tale, villagers in Thailand are flocking to a sacred tree believed to house a spirit that grants lottery blessings. People from surrounding areas have gathered to pay respects, hoping for lucky numbers ahead of the next lottery draw. This age-old tradition continues to attract those seeking fortune through spiritual means.
