5 Former Defence Secretaries Urge UK to Allow Ukraine to Use Long Range Missiles
How long is too long for you for this to go on for? Another 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? Forever? Do you want UK and US troops to be involved? Maybe a nuclear bomb or 2? How much money do you think is too much? another $100bn? $1tn? $10tn? If you don't want this to continue forever what do you suggest to stop it? I don't particularly care if someone is considered a 'winner' as I am not a child and think there are better things to do with these resources. Unless the western military get involved (which would be a ridiculous waste of life and money) then it will be a forever stand off. Yes some lines might get redrawn and some people will have to swap one corrupt leader for another but at least they will live. My suggestion to save lives and stop wasting money is to stop funding it. What is yours? -

5 Former Defence Secretaries Urge UK to Allow Ukraine to Use Long Range Missiles
Isn't it obvious that as soon as one country approves using their weapons for long range attacks. That others will follow. War is money and selling weapons during a war is very profitable. It's no wonder these people are trying to convince their country to allow using their weapons this way. I would bet my hat that some probably have a vested interest in weapons manufacturing or sales. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
Great idea, but make it 300, per DAY. To include travel/ health insurance And provide for a fund for comprehensive improvements in tourist infrastructures environmental damage mitigation and repair, and tourist police. Any so-called “tourists” who scoff at this pittance would probably just be coming to commit crimes or work illegally. -

What song brings back a cherished childhood memory, and what is that memory?
Minimal research will have pointed out, the Mekong floods almost every year. Use to up to watch it almost crest every year when living at Udon Thani. You can't fix stupid ... don't build in flood plains. Better research = Better life -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
First it was going to be used to cover tourist's medical costs, now it's for infrastructure development and ensuring tourist safety. Just more greed and blah-blah-blah. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
Clearly the government coffers are in a perilous state, perhaps even a black hole in the finances after the military usurpers departed, to coin Cur starmer phrase which is repeated more often than i did the 9 times table... -

Swift endorsement turns more voters from harris than it attracts…
This is a very good question and one that many of us have been wrestling with since long before his first presidency. I think that the quality of life in America has diminished to the point where only low quality candidates can be expected in the future. I don't think anyone of decency or nobility has any interest in subjecting themselves or their families to a grueling campaign. -

Best UK Bank whilst living in Thailand
Yes I get all that and a card reader is effectively another means of SCA (strong customer authentication) so an alternative to an OTP. Not all banks use card readers and I was curious about the poster's that I replied to. For example I have had to use OTP's with LLoyds for years just to log in. Lloyds offshore bank requests a phone number to call and you then have to give the numbers that you see on the screen where you are trying to log in - which recently suffered a glitch (separate thread from another poster in the Home forum) I agree the that the card reader sounds very secure. I am not sure that I would want to deal with a bank these days that didn't insist on some sort of MFA.- 1

Leaked Supreme Court Memos Reveals Chief Justice Interferring in Election Cases & Jan 6
Although I'm a far-left liberal and do not agree with a lot of these decisions of our Supreme Court, I don't think the Chief Justice did anything wrong. All the justices discuss the cases before them, present their opinions and arguments, and, of course, hope the others agree with them. I don't see anything unusual or alarming about this. -
