Texas Chicken Bids Farewell to Thailand
It doesn't taste the same as it does in the U.S. That's why it failed; chicken is dry, stale, and over-cooked. KFC is not the same as the U.S. either. And for the same reasons, KFC should have failed by now. Both are trying to accomodate local tastes. I must applaud McDonald's for their commitment to maintian the same flavors no matter where you buy their burgers in the world. -

Portfolio Tracking
What do you use for free portfolio tracking of equities daily? I have a Schwab account which is fine but I also have an investment account with my bank. They send monthly statements but I would like to track those investments daily... Or does Schwab offer that service too? -

Issues with Thailand ETA application
ETA didn't start yet. It is not the same thing as e-Visa. Anyway, the reason you get the results you are seeing is that the nearby countries are not participating (yet) in the e-Visa system. -

Social Media Outrage as Tourists Blatantly Urinate on Pattaya Beach
What a laugh - "could ruin" ! Pattaya's reputation was ruined a long, long time ago. Pissing in the sea - so what! Pee joining turds in the sea. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
Noblesse oblige? If Europe's doing it and the UK is doing it, we got no problem. It's only if Thailand does it.🙂Rest assured the bureaucrats in the EU will also waste the revenue gained from the tourist charge. I prefer the honest corruption of Thailand. -

world wide income taxation update
from what I have read here on the forum, whenever someone goes to one office, they tell him that he must go to the office where he resides. I sure have no idea as they never really give us definite info...I did notice the deputy finance guy talking about their goals in that ALL workers in Thailand must register - I think that if they are going after expats that will be the answer for us if we too are required to register. He indicates that it will definitely not be done through passage of a law until 2025. But with all the money not only for the 10k to the poor, now with all that it will cost to repair damage from all the floods! More storms on the way even. But, who really has any idea on what will happen in the short while let alone the long one. from -

Honest Question: How is Trump a 'threat to Democracy'?
Negatives about the Dems? That was NOT the question you put forth. You asked "how is he a threat?" I'll repeat only one more time, read "Project 2025." It spells out in very clear terms what he plans on doing. -

Social Media Outrage as Tourists Blatantly Urinate on Pattaya Beach
...Pattaya’s reputation as a world-class family friendly tourist destination... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Was it? I thought its prime target has been Sex Tourists; with Thailand's biggest Red Light District. Since its initial development for US force's R&R during Indochina War. -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
I didn't report your personal attack directed to me. In fact, I have never reported anyone, for anything. Free speech and all. Some members have taken advantage of that, but no problem for me. The cricket was canceled the other night so I decided to catch up with some posts. There were some interesting posts and I wanted to reply. So what? I have proven you are the most prolific poster in these tax threads. You are the leading poster in the thread in which you personally attacked me, and you are currently sitting in 3rd Place with 130 posts on this thread, and here you are saying I had too many posts on one page for your liking. Well boo hoo. We already have USA, UK and Australia forums. This forum is for all nationalities. Should a few posts get a roll on for any particular nationality, so what? Scroll a little. Is that so difficult? I don't complain when there's a page of Americans discussing the IRS, or Brit's discussing HMRC. You are trying to make it too specific to the point it restricts an open discussion on the forum. Why? -
