Tourist Police Conduct Further Pattaya Beach Operation. 42 People Arrested

The new Inspector in charge of the Pattaya Tourist Police Division, Police Lieutenant Colonel Suwan, is determined to rid Pattaya Beach of prostitutes and undesirables who use the promenade to conduct their business or to commit crimes against tourists. A team of Tourist Police Officers, Tourist Police Volunteers and Pattaya City Hall Security Officers met at the Dusit Resort in North Pattaya and began their sweep of the entire stretch of Pattaya Beach.

The operation came to an end at the entrance to Walking Street and a total of 41 people were detained and taken to the Tourist Police Station located on the Pratamnuk Mountain. 30 women and 11 transsexuals were arrested. 4 of the group failed drugs tests and were charged accordingly. During the operation a Thai Man, Khun Adoon aged 42 was arrested after being caught in possession of 1 packet of the class 5 drug Marijuana. He will be charged with possession of a class 5 drug.

After processing, 37 of the group were taken to Pattaya City Hall where they received fines. The 4 who failed the drugs test and Khun Adoon were taken to Pattaya Police Station for further investigation.
