Don't know about MAGA types, but Congress (dems & reps) seems to have no problems spending 100's of billions, if not a trillion overseas and in USA on non US citizens, when tax paying USA folks could use a bit of help.

Think they all need to check their priorities, and seem to forgot who they actually work for.

If that's not bad enough, they are 'borrowing' the money to do so, as the deficit continues to climb.

Guess they never heard the expressing ... "live within your means" :coffee1:

Cannot disagree that the Democrats and Republicans in Congress are funding needs but staying away from rolling back the Republican tax cuts favoring the wealthy and corporations. We have means just not the political will to tax more fairly … the long term affect beginning with Reagan’s (R) tax cuts reducing taxes on the top incomes. No, I do not promote uncontrolled spending … that is why I seek Democrats arguing for social programs benefiting the working middle class and more traditional Republicans counter proposing alternatives viable to address the same issues needing action. Today? No chance …

I would like you to see what happens if you did not have a Thailand Visa and got caught.

You get deported and banned for five years.

If you want to tax more fairly, get rid of all the deduction/allowances, along with subsidies, all markets, all industries, and simply have  flat tax.

Flat tax of 15-20-25%.  That would be fair.  Because someone has the desire to make more, they shouldn't be penalized with higher taxes.  That's just stupid.

Half pays less that <15% tax, many, no income tax at all or an average of 3.3%.  And I've been hit with 37% income tax, and that's just 'federal'.

That's not a fair tax code... that's BS

What Vivek says is, of course, true.

The “social safety net” of state & federal government payments is a powerful magnet for anyone living below that standard (over 5 billion people) to move to the United States.

Couple that with open borders and obviously vast numbers of people will move here. It would be absurd to expect any other outcome.

Meanwhile, October surprise, Kamala will be on Howard Stern tomorrow? Joe is in LaLa land and this will hit:

I’d rather not feel the government’s presence in my day to day life. Vote for left and you will have expansion of government and limits of your freedom, real socialist system. Wise words:

We see what happens almost every day on AseanNow Forums. There's always some Farnag who's either in the country illegally or on an expired visa. They are fined and probably deported. The people we're talking about here, though, are people who have come to the USA for asylum, fleeing some economic or political turmoil in their home country. Their situation, IMO, deserves to be heard before the authorities decide to deport them. I know that's not the majority opinion in the USA, but I favor making immigration as easy as possible, not making it very difficult.

You are trying to make a grey area.. Whereas the law is just that.. Either you are in the country legally, or you are not. If someone actually wanted to migrate to the US.. There are procedures that do not take money from the aid supposed to used for its citizens. They are illegals.. You can spin any tale you want to make it different.. But it is not.

I do see it as a "gray area" (American spelling of "gray"), but yes, undocumented aliens are here illegally. That doesn't mean, however, that they have to be deported. They could be arrested, released on their own recognizance, and then their case heard by a judge or committee after that. Then, if they don't meet the qualifications for being a refugee, they should be deported. That's how I think undocumented aliens should be treated.

FEMA is short because so much of their funding went to caring for illegals.

As usual, the MAGA types refused to fund disaster relief and then complain when there's no money for disaster relief.  Just like the infrastructure bill, when these same MAGA types refused to fund, yet, were more than happy to take credit when the money came into their districts.  These MAGA folks are real maggots.

It reminds me of their refusal to fund the border bill, for political reasons. Unbelievably disengenuous.

What a total bunch of BS!!  How would the court system even attempt to go with your crazy plan without a HUGE $$$$ overhaul?  The $$ it takes to arrest. Then release on their own recognizance,( I can't believe someone even said that!) Then you want them to get an appointment in the future to be heard by a Judge!  A committee!?? Then they can stay or be deported!  Have you even thought more than a minute about your fairyland tale? What percentage will come back? What are the costs? LMAO
