watgate
I have been using the Avira free virus protection offering for several years and in the past, if I had an issue with their program, I could just uninstall it and then reinstall it again. This time I could not update my virus protection nor run a scan on my laptop. Avira has made it virtually impossible to either repair or uninstall my virus protection software which is currently installed on my laptop. You can't contact support unless you now have a license key which would necessitate you having to take out a paid subscription with them. They have a support bot which is worthless and in reading some other postings in their chat room, other folks who were using the free version are also having the same issue of not being able to uninstall the free version from their computer. The replies from Avira to the posters in the chat room are basically, tough luck, you need a license key to contact support and they have radically changed the process to force someone to have to pay for a subscription. I just want to uninstall my free version but when ever I attempt it, it says you can't and to contact support which puts you in a never ending loop. Any suggestions on what I can do to successfully uninstall my free version of Avira form my laptop.?

If you have been trying to do what the poster above suggested and it is not working I would suggest trying an uninstaller program. One example which looks complicated but isn't if you just want to remove Avira is https://www.bcuninstaller.com/ Another well known one you could try is CCleaner. if you managed to delete it without those I would probably use Wise Registry Cleaner or similar to clean up any remaining remnants of Avira. NowNow
Depends on the version installed and the message you receive when attempting to uninstall. If this: Then try this: https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003162153-Uninstallation-of-Avira-for-Windows If some other message, then simply run a manual removal if the usual method does not work: https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003162153-Uninstallation-of-Avira-for-Windows Manual removal: https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002858514-How-do-I-perform-a-manual-reinstallation-of-my-Avira-Antivirus-product-?utm_source=CS&utm_medium=KB
