Moreover, there are questions regarding the legality of the workforce, and authorities are assessing whether the necessary work permits are in place for the Chinese workers employed there. This aspect forms an integral part of the broader investigation into the operation.

The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has intervened in a major luxury housing project in Nonthaburi, funded predominantly by Chinese capital, due to money laundering suspicions.

Guaranteed... Chinese money in Thai hands.

200 million to 700 million Thb per unit? Some serious local 'benefactors' involved in that project.

If the OP image is anything to go by they are just high-end ticky-tacky boxes side by side.

60 opulent five-storey villas, each complete with a basement and swimming pool, with prices ranging from 200 to 700 million baht per unit.

Chinese mega capital projects.

Often come with one adjective of 'illegal'.

In China itself, skyscraper condos were often built on the money illegally obtained.

Their local government is not allowed to engage in financial speculation.

But they often dodge the system by mocking up dummy firm(to look like in private sector).

And get the loan from the financial institutions.

In recent years, such fake housing developers are facing bust one after another...

while it's a villa, looks like it could be classed and titled as a condo due to it having common area like underground carpark to get the 49% foriegn quota, the rest probably has thai citizenship or company to snap up anyway

suprised there arent' more project like this that has detached house titled as condo to attract foreign buyer
