You're either responding to someone else's posts, or you're yelling at a cloud going by.  Either way, I did not mention combustion engines or ships in this thread.

Sorry. I conflated your post with another member's. However, you still haven't cited any source for that ridiculous claim that somehow assigns the responsibility for the current rapid pace of climate change to Krakatoa. Making things up much?

Is anyone else wondering what caused all those peaks and valleys in the millions of years before we had cars?

Climate change is real.  It's been going on for billions of years.  Decimating the economy, or taking money from me and giving it to someone else isn't going to stop it.  Neither are windmills, solar panels or EVs crammed down our throats.

Good on Cap'n Ron.

I'm truly curious how far climate change folks are willing to go. Stop all nonessential air travel, ban all combustible engines. How far are you willing to take this? Understand these bans need to be worldwide, no more ships transporting goods around the world.

I agree what we need to do is address what we can, electricity production start using were possible renewable sources of energy some things will have to remain the same.shipping and rail transport are polluters to be sure but they transport lots of weight very efficiently.we need to address what we can…..the big question is was Ronnie prancing around in his white rubber goulashes again lol 😂 remember that photo he he he that was funny 😄

Very scary, does not need sea level rise to be much to have severe economic impacts.

DeSantis is a Republican.

Trump has very little understanding of science, or the scientific method...EVERYBODY knows this.

DeSantis is not as stupid as Trump.

DeSantis DOES know the science.

But, he pretends that he does not.....

Simply because he knows that Science is not something that his constituency wants to hear.

Instead, just sing about Lord Jesus...for example.

DeSantis knows a LOT more about Science than he is willing to admit to his followers and disciples.

Just listen to DeSantis speak....  He AIN'T no DUMMY!

Climate change is the biggest fraud brought against all the people of the world.  Of course the climate changes.  It it didn't how can we get an average for the date.  Al Gore has gotten rich in this BS.  If Obama believed his BS on Climate , would he have bought a $15 million property right in the water only to be washed away in a few years.  I thing the oceans were going to rise during the next 10 years.  He is going on owning the property for 8 years.  Is the water level higher.  Look at the Plymouth rock set in place in 400 years ago.  It the water level any higher??  Did man cause the ice age  10,000 years ago.  How can people fall for this.  Look at the two foremost experts.  Greta and AOC.  Forget the scientist who don't buy into this.  Make sense Tug?

Yes better to believe in the New York City trust fund baby with no qualifications (no school records) and random people on the internet or……..believe qualified scientists who have studied this with the aid of super computers……sorry thaipo but I’m a going with the science.

Not a serious comment.

So you're not willing to really make any concessions to save out planet. Yet, you blame Trump. Ban plastic bags and straws should do the trick right??

I try not to get drawn into discussions about mitigation strategies with Climate Deniers, because they ultimately will fall back on denying that climate change is real. It's a common Denier trolling technique.

Prior climate change was caused by well understood natural forces.

But there are no known natural forces causing the current warming. If you can identify a natural force causing the current warming, there is a Nobel Prize waiting for you.

Are you talking about anthropogenic climate forcings?

Just name three, for starters.

Sure.

CO2

Methane

Water vapor (a secondary forcing factor).

These combine to trap heat in the Troposphere and warm the planet.

I am still waiting for a Denier to list natural forcing factors that could warm the planet.

Another poster admitting they failed Science in secondary school.

Who me?

I am just shocked that someone here knows...."Water vapor (a secondary forcing factor)."....

Increased water vapor is a secondary effect of increased temperature caused by the primary forcing of increased CO2....

Just shocked....actually.

I paid attention in school.

Unlike the Deniers here who are clueless about science.

What shocks me is the inability of some people to understand that the level of H2O in the atmosphere is self-limiting. Get back to us when the atmosphere starts precipitating CO2 and methane.

There are also various chlorofluorocarbons, nitrous oxide, and ozone. I guess  at at lease some H2O can be considered anthropogenic  in that as temperatures rise the atmosphere can hold more of it. So the excess would be an instance of anthropogenic forcing.

..would i rather listen to scientists who have spent their entire lives studying the climate worldwide and have detailed measurements of increased co2 , oceans warming, glaciers melting, down to fractions of degrees and sea levels etc..scientists from all over the world.

OR

would i rather listen to internet posters and politicians who have no training no experience no detailed measurements or no ability to inerpret measurements, and often have trouble telling the difference between climate and weather...let me hold a snowball up to prove there is no global warming...there see proved it.

sad state of affairs where everyone is an expert that know more than the experts because they read it on the internet or some policitican told them that "people are saying"

Scientist prove what they are paid to prove - in many cases!
