I think Apartheid is evil. The situation in Gaza was described as a form of apartheid due to the severe restrictions imposed on the movement of its residents and the systematic discrimination they face. The blockade, in place for over a decade, effectively turned Gaza into an open-air prison, limiting access to essential resources, healthcare, and opportunities for a dignified life. Thailand is my aged care plan. My Thai family will take care of me when I can no longer do so. In Australia, aged care consists of being shoveled into a nursing home to rot, with food a dog would turn its nose up at, attended by overworked and underpaid carers. I know a guy in Chiang Mai who is 93 yo. He is going blind. His Thai GF ( 60-odd ) helps him with everything, and will be well provided for when he dies. I don't understand expats here who refuse to learn any Thai. Life is so much easier, even with a basic vocabulary. -

No Gant, nobody said that at all. What was said is that all Visa & Mastercard transactions involving foreign cards, are reported by Visa/Mastercard Thailand, to BOT, because of their foreign exchange implications. But you knew that. -

No I was not laughing "with them" are they even capable of laughing ? We didn't get close enough to them that they could hear us so no they were not "offended" People would of course have to be a bit more careful these days as there are so many virtue signallers itching to take offence on their behalf. If somebody spends more money in Thailand than in his home country - I agree. I have the same lifestyle and spend much less. If my monthly pension will be taxable in Thailand is still not clear yet by the DTA between Thailand and my country. Anyway, I wish all of you happy moments to come. Of course you can go on to worry about something that isn't decided yet... -
