Electrocution Kills Suspected Thief on Rooftop of Construction Supply Store in Bangkok

In a shocking incident on October 14, a man was found dead on the roof of a construction materials store along Prasert Manukit Road, is believed to have died from electrocution while attempting to steal electrical wires. The discovery was made opposite Lertlah School, in the Nawamin area of Bueng Kum district.

 

At approximately 07:30 Police Lieutenant Colonel Witthaya Khongthong, an investigator from Khok Kram Police Station, responded to a report of an unidentified body found on the rooftop of the V.S.B. Home Co., Ltd., a store specialising in construction supplies. The deceased, a man of unknown identity with no identification documents, was found in a decomposed state, lying face down with his head and arms hanging off the roof.

 

 

Two metal rods, each about one foot long, were found tucked into the waistband of his jeans, and investigators estimate that he had been dead for three to four days. A pair of wire cutters and a bicycle were found nearby, leading police to believe that the man had been attempting to steal electrical wiring from the store.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Witthaya stated that early in the morning, a Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) officer noticed the body on the roof and immediately notified the police. Based on the evidence, including a severed electrical wire and a pair of sandals found near a power pole, authorities suspect that the man had been trying to steal electrical cables when he was fatally electrocuted. The investigation is ongoing, with police reviewing CCTV footage and sending the body to the Police General Hospital’s Forensic Institute for identification.

 

Authorities are working to contact the man’s family to arrange for the retrieval of his body, as the investigation continues.

oh dear Georgealbert,   he should not be out stealing,  it has now cost him his life. Very tragic event that could have been avoided.  

There are other job he could have done apart from stealing. 

 

He has been put in the waiting room because of his stealing.

I've noticed that most of the construction and electrical work done here leaves a lot to be desired.
