Govt Plans to Boost Education and High-Tech Workforce
BANGKOK (NNT) - Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has outlined a plan to address Thailand’s education challenges, focusing on producing skilled professionals to drive growth in high-tech industries. During a recent meeting of the National Council for Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation Policy, the prime minister discussed the government's focus on sectors such as electric vehicles, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and advanced medical technology, alongside clean energy and environmental sustainability efforts. A key part of the plan is introducing a National Credit Bank system, allowing individuals to accumulate educational credits from academic achievements and work experience. These credits can be applied toward degrees, offering greater flexibility and expanding access to education. The government is also prioritizing upskilling and reskilling initiatives to meet evolving industry needs. To support the semiconductor industry, the council approved a plan to develop a workforce of at least 80,000 specialized professionals by 2030. This includes establishing six training centers and designing industry-specific curricula to attract new investments. The effort seeks to position Thailand as a global hub for semiconductors and advanced electronics. The council also approved a 160.13 billion baht budget for the 2026 fiscal year, with a significant portion allocated to higher education. The funds will be used to produce graduates in critical sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and electric vehicles while supporting research and innovation to address national challenges and promote sustainable development. by Krajangwit Johjit Source: NNT -- 2024-10-21 -

Trump ahead in all battleground states - ALL OF THEM!
I suggest members watch the movie Shutter Island. This is the level of delusion that we are being subjected to by the Russia Hoax clowns. I keep referring to mental illness. One particular proponent of this theory on this forum has admitted he is living with a lifetime psychiatric disorder. I jest you not. -

Australian Aged Pension
The Mods have warned every member on this thread, more than once. I will not engage your baiting post. The facts are: 1) The pension is deemed an income. 2) The pension is taxable. 3) There is no tax free threshold in the non resident tax brackets. 4) The proposed changes have no exemptions for old aged pensions. 5) The proposed changes will see one deemed a non resident for tax purposes if outside of Australia for 183 days. (the 45 day rule every 3 years aside) 6) The DTA only covers "Government Service Pensions" and an old age Centerlink pension is not a Government Service Pension. Happy to discuss what you disagree with in the above. Everything else you post is designed bait me. When you stop making it "personal" and stick to the above to discuss, perhaps the thread can continue in a sensible manner. Many on here would like to discuss the above, in the exact same way it's being discussed in another forum, in relation to the Thai remittance tax, which, funny enough, you did state on that forum, under Article 19 of the DTA an individual will have to pay tax, but on this forum you stated, under Article 19 you don't have to pay tax. Go figure. -

What comes after election day (unless Trump wins the electoral college)
Didn't mean to imply going that far, maybe more like locking him up unconditionally as a threat to the stability of the country, along with the whole deck of jokers that guide and abet him. That stuff about knowingly giving bad information to people in distress, causing death and loss, would be a small first step, Keep the jet fueled and ready, Eric. -

Interesting topic about Navy Seals but it wouldn't be prudent at this time to comment about it.- 1

Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
Pay attention to how he pronounces Pattaya. It may be silly, but just for this alone, I wouldn't choose him as my tax advisor. -

Does your Thai wife keep you on a short leash?
This seems to be a popular notion here on Thaivisa, uh, er, AN. Act Like A Man! or she will romp all over you. I'm sure it happens, you know, to wussy boys who marry bar girls. Still lots of Thai women appreciate westerners as mates because, among other reasons, they do not belt seven bells a heck out of them, or move karaoke singers into the house, and kick them out, after literally kicking them. Both of which happened to some Thai women I know. I'm sure this is not what you mean, but for some, western airheads, it needs to be stated explicitly. -

What comes after election day (unless Trump wins the electoral college)
Do bear in mind that all this Supreme Court to-do about the privileges of the president would also cover the one currently serving. If DT loses but puts up a fight I'd like to see Biden make use of the privileges SCOTUS has been coming up with for their orange-faced hero. Reference the SCOTUS discussion about the president being able to have Navy Seals kill his political enemy. Biden is out after the inauguration, he has nothing to lose, and by the time they bring him to court (at least two years) old Joe's health may render him unfit to stand trial. And if DT pulls his shenanigans again, and gets foiled, then comes his trial (however many years later), and HE may be the one that's unfit;. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/02/trump-immunity-murder-navy-sotomayor-00166385 -

Deadlocked Between Trump and Harris in NBC News Poll as Election Approaches
Danderman, The actual numbers thus far in PA is closer to 64% of the early vote has been Democrat and historically Republicans in PA vote on election day, so the numbers at this point historically have been much closer to 73-74% for Democrats, so they are behind by roughly 10% of where they usually are, but that is not the real problem for the Dems in PA, the real problem is that many of those registered Democrat early voters are Black Men, and 30%+ of Black men are going to vote for Trump over Harris, so a good chunk of those early Democrats votes, will actually be for Trump. There are only around 4 or 5 legitimate pollsters that have a good track record here in the U.S,. and all of them have Trump up in 6 of the 7 swing states, and the odds makers in the U.K. have had so much money bet on Trump this past week that their bookmaking odds as of today have Trump at over a 60% chance to become the 47th President of the United States. If I were you my friend, I would lock up all the sharp objects in your home on Nov. 5th, because when you arise on Nov. 6th and see that Trump has won a massive victory in the Electoral College and the Republicans have taken back the Senate and increased their majority in the House of Reps, you might have a visceral reaction like most of your ilk will. My suggestion is get prescribed some Prozac next week and take plenty of it when you arise on Nov. 6th.
