Tour Bus Crash in Nakhon Ratchasima Injures 43

Authorities received reports at approximately 10.10 on the evening of October 20, of traffic collision involving a tour bus in the Klong Dong area, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima province. The incident occurred on the inbound Friendship Highway (Km. 35) near Mae Chompoo Restaurant in Phayayen Subdistrict.

 

Emergency responders on arrival found the crash involved a tour bus with registration number from Kanchanaburi, which is reported to have lost all braking power, resulting in a collision with a parked truck and  trailer at the side of the road.

 

 

The bus had 51 people on board and the two most seriously injured were females, trapped in the wreckage. Rescue teams used cutting tools to extract those two individuals from inside the bus.

 

First aid was administered at the scene, and the injured were transported to hospitals, with 41 people requiring hospital treatment, two having life threatening injuries and six in a serious condition. with the remainder not expected to be detained overnight.

 

The case is being handled by Police Lieutenant Colonel Auaychai Promwong, of Klong Dong Police Station. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.

Why was the bus driving at the side of the road, working brakes or not?

Another bus accident involving an ancient Thai bus with brake failure. 461 is usually on the route between Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi, took it myself once.....never again.

These vehicles should be legislated off the roads and replaced with a modern much safer fleet.

Public Service  vehicle, coaches and buses for carrying passengers for reward in the UK. 
 

Special driving licence/test required, minimum age used to be 21.

 

Heavily regulated in each area by Traffic Commissioners, not like Mickey Mouse and Co. here.
