Of course it is; why else would I post if not to respond to the OP?

😊

I guess I wanted to say(without actually saying it) that KISS for me is like a school cafeteria. Clean and reliable, but I'm surprised to hear it's the 'best'. 😊

  • I like the Surf kitchen on the beach road for Thai food including fish, with a view of the sea looking out to Koh Larn.

  • What a load of off topic nonsense.....arguing about beach names. If the OP is happy with a fish in a tin, fish shaped pan, over a small burner, it is a standard at any Thai restaurant....no short

Jomtien Beach starts nowhere near Phratumnak.   Jomtien starts at the Jomtien Welcome Arch outside Hemmingways so if you walk down to the beach along that road you are at the North end of Jo

To me the one at Rompho Market is crooked!

They charged 80 B for 2 portions of rice which should be included in chicken plate...

I talked to the chef, saw him smoking outside, and told what happened.

"They knew you were new - they rob first times..."

I posted to Lonely Planet but they didn't publish.

I also wrote to PISS chain head quarters - no answer.

My GF liked it above others. We had a new Kiss up in Naklua which was slowly done for by Covid and now it has gone I quite miss it. They always had a few very good dishes and excellent ice-cream.

During Covid, Kiss Naklua did a lot of very good work with donations and heavily discounted dishes, so it was nice to give them a bit back with our custom.

What kind of rice costs 40 baht per portion anyway?

That's Cabbages & Condoms pricing but without the luxury.

just moved to the northern end of Jomtien beach, I am looking for recommendations for Thai steam fish restaurants on the northern side up to Dongtan, up to 30 minutes walk is fine.

I can find plenty in the south (Nah Jomtien) but not so much in the north

Exactly!

20 steps away at food stalls I paid 5 for same small size and big for 10 THB.

KISS menu price for "plain rice" is 15 THB.

Clearly got ripped off.

The only reason I paid quietly and left was my Thai gf didn't want me to make a scene...

She remembered what happened at Immi not once but twice 😉

Which one did you go to?

There's two on Jomtien beach road.

There is just one. You really do need to get out more to actually know your area.

...and how much are you willing to place on that bet? I'm guessing a big fat nothing. I didn't Google it, you did. It's not on Google Maps, so you would have only been able to find it by searching the name that I gave you. Not all of us are totally ignorant of our surroundings twenty years later.

Probably because every calls it Asia Beach

Then you mentioned Phra Tamnak beach....wrong again. It's YinYom beach.

And I found Phratumnak Beach, where I said it was!

Are you actually this obtuse? Is that an official map? 😊

You find a map in English, likely put together by a tourist/expat, that uses the names of the hotels and places to identify beaches. Asia hotel(Asia beach)...

Twenty years a tourist 😊

Next to "Asia beach" is suicide beach; If steep slippery steps don't kill you raw sewage smell will...

You could try Thepprasit. Many Thai eateries on both sides of the road. Some going 24 hours. And you can enjoy browsing Ratanakorn market!
