Georgealbert Posted October 23, 2024 Posted October 23, 2024 The incident unfolded on October 23, in Chanthaburi’s Nong Bua sub-district, when a 57-year-old woman lost her life after being pulled into a food processing machine used to make traditional Thai sweets. The incident occurred in the early morning at her home, which also served as her workshop for preparing local delicacies. Local authorities and rescue workers from the Sawang Katanyu Chanthaburi Foundation were alerted to the scene at 08:00. Upon arrival, they discovered the woman, identified as Ms. Walaiporn (surname withheld), lying unresponsive on the floor. Her clothing had been caught in the machine’s rotating mechanism, causing fatal injuries. Her arms and hands, still covered in remnants of sweet mixture, bore multiple injuries, suggesting she had struggled to free herself. Lt. Marut Nitjin, Deputy Inspector of Mueang Chanthaburi Police Station, led the investigation alongside forensic experts from Phra Pokklao Hospital. Preliminary reports indicated that Ms. Walaiporn was strangled by her shirt as it became entangled in the machine. Attempts to save her by her relatives, who cut her clothing and performed CPR, were unsuccessful. The victim was a well-known figure in her local community, where she made and sold traditional sweets at markets. On the day of the accident, she had been preparing sweetened red yam when the machine pulled her clothing into its motor. Her family found her in a critical state and immediately tried to stop the machine and call for help, but it was too late. Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether mechanical failure or negligence played a role in the accident. The body has been transported to Phra Pokklao Hospital for an official autopsy, after which it will be released to the family. Picture from responders. -- 2024-10-24 3

No protection cage, the wheels are completely free and easily accessible. Just imagine kids are walking there, they tend to move their hands in these places. Unbelievable. 1 1
