Kamala, new accent?

How is her accent whatever it is of any consequence?
Is it a threat to democracy or something?

What I have seen and I think I am objective is that she has indeed been playing around with her speaking style and her accent variety, but the range of accent variety is fairly narrow. Nothing extreme. I think she's going for a bit of a musical speaking style, varying her tones for emphasis, and yes trying within her limitations as not being very charismatic, to be as charismatic as she can. Which again is not very charismatic, but I think better than nothing.

Do you think she would help her cause more speaking in a dry monotone? I don't.

Of course I want her to win, and the petty accent critics want maga fascist Trump to win, so they would be happy to see her speaking as dull as can be.

If she wins her first trip should be to India to read the riot act. While there she should study up on Hindi and give the state of the nation address in her best Bombay accent.

You just joined and trying to be funny..........:coffee1:

I shall put you down as a new hole digger..........:stoner:...........🤭

Well, political trolling seems to have become mainstream electoral fare in the last day or so.

I agree. Her speeches can be hard to listen to. She's not a particularly good orator. I can't decide if I prefer actual word salad all the time though.

The diverse formative influences on Kamala are widely known such as Jamaican, Indian, and Oakland black, then Howard U DC black. But what is very little talked about is her formative teen years in Montreal, Canada. There was an amazing profile about that very important time in her life in the Washington Post (paywall of course). Of course, it's not mentioned by the campaign as it's not really helpful as so much of the country is xenophobic. What I'm suggesting her is that VP Harris does have a wide base of personal influences that she can draw upon for her accent variations. What might look phony to some is arguably her way of expressing her authentic self (a very very diverse self for a very very diverse nation).

The point is that she sounds such a phony.   Of course,  she can speak however  she wants, but I think a lot of people are put off by her being so blatantly fake.

Farangs in Thailand do it also.

Speak Thailish, which is sort of English words using Thai grammar rules, with a few thai words thrown in, it varies speaker to speaker.
Boom boom, mao, electric, papaya bok bok.

Throw in a few half hearted wais for extra effect.

Ah yes, Kamala the Kamiliian !

From white, word salad, Ebonics, Jive and now Preacher of the Bible.

At times , all in one day.

And I thought she and most leftist are against the Bible and Christianity.  In God we trust will be eliminated next along with the pledge of allegiance if the leftist have control.

Been here a lot longer than two months.

I find that hand gestures and pulling faces also adds to the Thailish experience.

If not understood the first time, repeat in a louder voice.
